- An 1811 portrait of the first professional female balloonist, Sophie Blanchard, based upon a flight she made on 15 August 1811 in Milan to celebrate Napoleon Bonaparte's forty-second birthday. Mme. Blanchard was "Aeronaut of the Official Festivals" under Napoleon and became "Official Aeronaut of the Restoration" for Louis XVIII of France until her death in a ballooning accident in 1819.
