Countries classified as    "developing" or    "least developed" (full list) are considered. Articles from "least developed" areas are given a multiplier.

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest was a competition with a focus towards developing countries, played and won by skill of editing. The purpose of this contest was to encourage content creation and improvement in an area often underlooked by editors.

The 2024 Developing Countries WikiContest began on 1 July 2024 and sign-ups closed on 15 July. The contest was run from 1 July to 30 September.

For the full rules clarifying what points can be awarded for, see Wikipedia:2024 Developing Countries WikiContest/Scoring. However, the spirit of the rules is more important than the letter, and the coordinators reserve the right to deny points to anyone gaming the system, as well as to remove persistently problematic users from the contest.
