- Gentlemen, if you don't mind—standard English algebraic notation is "N" for Knight, "K" for King. JRM · Talk 20:07, 2005 May 16 (UTC)
Interesting openings here! Dysprosia 01:32, 17 May 2005 (UTC)
- Certainly. At this stage it's quite hard to say whether White or Black has the advantage... JRM · Talk 11:50, 2005 May 17 (UTC)
- It must be white, non? (btw, that is a french "non", should be pronounced with an accent) Gkhan 12:32, May 17, 2005 (UTC)
- You're only looking at the position. I'm taking player strength into account. JRM · Talk 13:07, 2005 May 17 (UTC)
- OK, OK, I'll reluctantly grant you that White seems to have the better cards for now... JRM · Talk 18:42, 2005 May 17 (UTC)
- This is not a French Defense. The French is 1.e4 e6. It is Van't Kruijs Opening (1.e3),
but we don't have an article on that yet!Sjakkalle 12:21, 18 May 2005 (UTC)- Remedied, we have the article now!. Sjakkalle 12:39, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

For move 10, I know what move I would make if I were white :-X. H Padleckas 17:11, 18 May 2005 (UTC)

Mate in one. White to win. Linuxbeak | Desk 21:05, May 18, 2005 (UTC)
- It does seem that Luigi was given it on a plate there! jguk 21:09, 18 May 2005 (UTC)
- Two Fool's Mates in one championship. I suspect that's a record.-gadfium 23:08, 18 May 2005 (UTC)
- It's only the first championship. And it's not like the contestants were heavily recruited. JRM · Talk 23:53, 2005 May 18 (UTC)
- I did not see that. I knew it was gonna be something like that. Good game, Luigi. Ghost Freeman | Talk 03:12, 19 May 2005 (UTC)

I was looking at this game after move 9 and I was thinking that white would go Qd3 to potentially set up a very similar mate. Unless black tooks steps to avoid, next white move would have Bxg6 gaining a knight. If black dared to take back with fxg6, then Qxg6 mate. As it turns out, although with different moves, the end was just as quick. H Padleckas 06:17, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
