Veľaty (Hungarian: Velejte) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia.
History
[edit]In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1280.
Geography
[edit]The village lies at an altitude of 124 metres and covers an area of 12.723 km². It has a population of about 835 people.
Ethnicity
[edit]The village is about 89% Slovak 10% Hungarian and 1% Romani, Czech and Ukrainian.
