Reliable sources

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your efforts to improve Wikipedia. However, a core policy of the encyclopedia is on reliable sources, especially for scientific articles such as Symbiogenesis (more detail at WP:SCIRS).

The nub of it is that science sources must be of the highest quality, which broadly means professionally published articles that are themselves reviewing other peer-reviewed primary scientific papers.

Suitable sources are thus textbooks from major publishers, or review articles published in major journals.

The sources you used were nowhere near the required quality. Hope this is clear. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 20:36, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I wasn’t actually quite aware of the reliable resources, so thanks for your clarification. BR, Ziad Ziad adam (talk) 22:00, 5 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The material was quite close to that found on the source website, and thus was a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't add copyright material to Wikipedia. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:32, 6 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
