[edit]Wraith, I ask that you stop reverting changes back and forth. You have been asked to discuss the issue first to avoid edit warring. Asserting your view like that is discouraged and is not in line with Wikipedia's Civility policy. If you'd like, we can get more view points on the matter. I've posted a suggestion at Talk:Final Fantasy. (Guyinblack25 talk 21:03, 21 July 2009 (UTC))
- 1. I AM discussing the issue. Why is it that YOUR view of how the article should be is the one that should be up while the discussion is held. Why don't YOU stop editing it untill the discussion is complete?
- 2. You say that asserting my view in this mannor is discouraged, but aren't you doing the same thing? By my count, YOU have reverted the page just as many times as I have.
- 3. I think getting more viewpoints is a good idea.
- Bottom line: why not follow your own advice? Lead by example. If you think the page should remain in a static state while discussions are held, fine. But I think that since that is your idea, perhaps you should be the one to stop editing. (WraithTDK)
- Wraith- With all due respect, such comments are not the heart of the matter. You are discussing the issue now, and that's all that matters. To get more viewpoints, I've started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Video games#NES vs Famicom. Please continue the discussion there. (Guyinblack25 talk 17:39, 27 July 2009 (UTC))
- No, they're not the HEART of the matter, however, they are perfectly valid questions that you seem to be side-stepping, presumably because you're getting your way in the mean time, so why bother? (WraithTDK)
- If that's how you feel, then I will address your questions.
- To address your second point, I only reverted the changes you made twice[1][2]. User:Doctorfluffy reverted the rest of your edits. You can check the edit history to be sure. So by Wikipedia's count, I did not revert the page as many times as you said.
- To address your first point, looking over the edit history again it is possible I did not notice when you started the discussion. My first revert of your revert came three minutes after you started the discussion. Perhaps the later reverts back and forth are the result of a simple misunderstanding.
- To be quite honest, I mainly use reverts to get the attention of editors so discussion can begin. That's why I often mention the talk page or leave a link to the talk page in my comments. But regardless, the discussion has begun and hopefully we can come to an amicable resolution. (Guyinblack25 talk 16:50, 30 July 2009 (UTC))
