NPA intervention

[edit]

Greetings, I removed the personal attack note you added to the intervention page. I noticed that there weren't any NPA warnings given. Generally at least a couple need to have been given for an admin to do anything. I'll leave a note on his talk page and see if he responds, let me (or any admin) know if it continues. Also feel free to use the NPA warning templates that are listed on the personal attack intervention page. Later! Rx StrangeLove 11:47, 10 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting short translation

[edit]

I'm working on translating a biography from Italian to English, in order to write a featured article. If possible, can you please translate this paragraph:

Thanks for your help :) — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-14 04:40

  • Thanks for the translation. I am only asking for a rough translation (something much better than babelfish but not necessarily perfect) in order to extract important facts. I've asked a couple dozen people to translate small parts of it, since it's a large document, and is the only biography I could find on Girolamo Maggi. — 0918BRIAN • 2006-03-14 20:53

Maltese holidays

[edit]

Thanks for the creation of the article and linking to it on the Malta page. This is a step forward towards an eventual 2nd peer review in the future (most probably after a serious overhaul in summer when most editors can dedicate more time to Wiki). Since you are the original author and since you are administrator, I thought I would make this a bit short by telling you directly: Those holidays are National holidays. I am going to edit the article and divide in two sections, National and Public (Religious/Catholic), since it does not make much sense two have two seperate articles (at least IMO). I thought maybe you could rename the article from Public holidays in Malta to Holidays in Malta, since it is a bit strange to do such change with that title! In any case, that article needs to be renamed, if not to Holidays... to National Holidays....

Again, thanks for your interest in Malta :).

Hello, VodkaJazz. I like your ideas. Go ahead and edit Public holidays in Malta as you think best. To avoid edit conflicts with you, I'll let you move it to Holidays in Malta yourself. You don't need to be an administrator to do this. Happy editing. Cheers ! -- PFHLai 20:13, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I had a sudden memory loss... how stupid of me. Anyway, I did some stuff. As usual with new articles, it took a bit more than expected heh. VodkaJazz/talk 22:59, 17 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Nicely done. I like what you did there. Good work, VodkaJazz. --PFHLai 15:40, 24 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I would appreciate it if you didn't try to erase my poems from other users' talk pages. Thanks. Karatloz 18:51, 31 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tawkerbot2

[edit]

The only thing is the IRC commands are restricted to people with operator stauts on the channels the bot is in, so i'm not sure how much help it would publically be. On the plus side, the bugs appear to be fixed which is a Good Thing :) -- Tawker 00:09, 2 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Feminismm

[edit]

Hey mate. Don't know where you got the idea for the feminism tag on your userpage, but it's brilliant, and I've copied it off you (shameless, I know). Only problem is that it's spelt Feminism, not Femminism. The latter is a broken link! Just one M. I'd change it for you myself, but that would just be rude! Thanks for the idea though! St. Julian's

[edit]

Hello, VodkaJazz. It looks like you, thankfully, caught a large blunder on my part. I check every article that I wikify or do major work on for copyright violations. When there is a large section of unwikified text, there is a good chance that an article is a copyright violation (a third to a half of the articles marked for wikification are copyright violations). I was going through the history looking for when a large amount of text was added in a single edit. I found such an edit, but I mistakenly thought all of the text came from that edit. I don't know how I pulled that one off, since the article is so long. I do check afterwards, but I guess I failed to do so this time or went temporarily blind or something. I mark few articles as copyright violations when I cannot find the source and only do so when I am almost positive that it is a copyright violation. I usually do 15 to 20 searches before giving up (I tried again and finally did find the source for that edit, but of course there was a lot of text that wasn't copied, at least from that source, that was added later). Fortunately, there are listed on copyright problems for seven days for anyone to catch a mistake and an admin has to agree that the article is a copyright violation before deleting it, though that should not be depended upon, of course. However, it is permissible to mark articles as copyright violations when the source cannot be found (unfortunately, they changed the procedure without my noticing, they are now marked on the talk page and put in a category). Anyway, you have my thanks for catching my mistake. -- Kjkolb 12:44, 10 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
