Request for assistance with COI edit request
Hi Utcursch,
A couple of years ago you helped me make some valuable changes to the BKWSU article. I used to edit the article myself but since I joined Wikipedia I have sensed that the tide has turned against any editor with COI from editing an NRM article. So after a year or so break I have returned but I am exclusively using the {{Request edit}} tag to request edits.
I have so far had no response to my request on the article talk page and I suspect it may be because the edit I am proposing is potentially controversial.
I am approaching you because I know that you have experience and expertise in this area and access to many of the references used in the article.
The editor who edit-warred with you last time has now been indef blocked for massive socking, trolling and disruption in a later incarnation so you should find the atmosphere a little more welcoming than last time.
I would appreciate any comments you have on my proposed edit. At the very least I would appreciate if the article can be tagged to indicate the issues with it that I have documented so far in my recent article analysis here and here.
Thanks & regards Bksimonb (talk) 12:12, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, currently I'm a little busy in real life -- I'd take a look at this as soon as I get time. Meanwhile, you can try gathering other editors' opinions. utcursch | talk 14:28, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Sardarji Jokes
Dear Utcursch, I need your help on the page of Sardarji Jokes. A person called "Sikh History" insists on adding some irrelevant lines, and on my deletions has issued warnings to me for 'Censorship'. As a newbie to Wiki, I dont really understand these warning et.al.
A stray remark by some Bihari gentleman that Bihari jokes have become more prevalant than Sikh jokes has becomee a definitive statement on the issue; and is being portrayed as a FINAL judgement on it; that Bihari Jokes "Are Greater than" Sardarji Jokes.
As an experienced editor, I hope you can join issues and help me in keeping that article more relevant.

Notice: Clan O'Dea (Ua Deághaidh).
I propose to move the Clan O'Dea page from Clan Ua Déaghaidh (misspelt in that form) in order to retitle it in the more relevant, modern English form of the name (O'Dea) used overwhelmingly in Ireland and, in addition, to correct the spelling of the name: it is misspelled without fail throughout the article in its present form. I can supply, if requested, a copy (photograph) of the relevant entry about O'Dea/Ó Deághaidh in the best-known reference title about Irish family names, The Surnames of Ireland by MacLysaght.
Please refer to the article Talk page for my explanation and justification. I am notifying you as a courtesy since you created the page and I would appreciate your stated support in the article's Talk page for the move, the retitling, and the corrections of the spellings. Thank you for creating the page and for weighing my proposal.
(Are Utcursch and Deaghaidhcjjd the same person? The links to the O'Dea article author are confusing and seem to suggest that one person is using two Wikipedia identities.) odea (talk) 09:59, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Hey Utcursch, I saw your edit summary and you are right. Now--how about you, as an administrator, getting back to writing content, specifically this article? (Your last DYK was in July!) Your expertise would be much appreciated. I am sure, for instance, that some of the praise heaped upon the subject by probably just one editor working with different IPs can be verified--but from where I am sitting, I cannot find the sources, and if you look through the article history you'll see that I have done my best to find reliable sources to verify statements in the article. The guy obviously was important and has been in lots of productions, so there should be some (more) material there. Finding such material would improve the article and might also take some wind out of the sails of the fans who keep adding unverified praise. Thanks in advance for your help.
