Thanks
I added a caption to the image at Jessica Williams I'll go back after work and try to do the other image too. I tried to find the 3rd image to delete but to no avail - I'll try again when time permits. I wanted to thank you for the help. Ms Williams' work brings joy to a lot of us, and we want to see her legacy continue. You've helped so much. Anything you think will make the page better, to your standards, please go ahead and make the proper edits or suggest them to me as you did. I am not very good with the computer but you've been very patient, and you and Leo Laursen are great. Thanks! Elaine
Thanks
Thanks re ref tag.......i have been at work on the Bkwsu page tidying them all up
What do you reckon? Should <ref>s go inside punctuation or outside it, e.g. "<ref>." or ".<ref>"?
To me it is more logical for them to go inside the fullstop of the sentance to which they relateGreen108 04:19, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Itihaaskar is a sock puppet
User Itihhaskar who has made only few "contributions" to the Wikipedia and that is only Jat people page. He is regularly deleting content from this page without giving any counter content which according to him should be the replacement. Content provided is well referenced. He has been warned also for his this activity. If his interest is to contribute to Wikipedia he wold have done edits to other pages also. He has created this false identity to vandalize the Jat people page.
I, therefore, request the Administrators to investigate identity of "Itihaaskar" and to determine if he is really a "sock puppet" for someone else. Regards,--burdak 04:45, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thank you for reverting the vandalism on my talk page. It was actually my very first vandal attack, I feel all warm and fuzzy.--Tao of tyler 12:36, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello Utkarshraj Atmaram. I am RS. I am a new Wikipedian. I am happy to know that you are from India. I like cricket and I think Rahul is very good batsman. I would like to contribute to articles related to India. Can you help me? Thank you. RS2007 15:01, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
Reverts of birth date
I know this can seem like a very petty issue but I hope you agree that it is a small symptom of a much bigger problem. Please check this out [1] [2]. This has been since the last time you corrected it. I thought the last post on the Lekhraj page you made was on the matter fairly conclusive. Thanks & regards Bksimonb 15:27, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the reply. You are really a friendly Wikipedia administrator. RS2007 03:46, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Larsen & Toubro Infotech
Oh how I wish it were possible to change the edit summary on my edits :). I reverted your change to Larsen & Toubro Infotech (you piped the external website "http://www.intinfotech.com" to "Intinfotech.com"). Unfortunately, their hosting company gives you one of those spammy "search" pages if you don't put the "www" on the front. Rather than having text that looks like a link to a spam page (even though I realise the link goes to the right place), I've reverted back to the raw address. I feel like I'm not making sense (long day). Let me know if you want me to have another shot at explaining what I'm talking about :). Mark Chovain 05:59, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
- Ignore me - I got the letter L and I confused, so have self-reverted back to your version. Hooray for stupidity induced, one-man edit wars :).
User 201.53.42.63 started spamming her book again
Hi, I noticed that you blocked user 201.53.42.63 a few days ago: [3]
Apparently she started spamming the link to her book again on the same pages as before, but now she is using IP address 201.53.0.244 with the same ISP as before and as the publisher of the book. I will revert whereever I can, but can you take action to stop this again?
Cheers and TIA. DVdm 14:10, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- It looks like the spammer has taken a name now and continues to add the same link: Profess001. I have put a pointer to the original warnings [4] , but that is about all I can do, I'm afraid. DVdm 16:29, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
- Indefinitely blocked by Edgar181. Cheers, DVdm 20:24, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Sourcing and Reliability
I am a newcomer as an editor, although I used it for years as areader. I am 48 years old and live in India. See the talk page of 'Svadhyaya', esp the title 'ISBN'. I request you to take a lively interest in persuading Indian publishers ( and ask your acquaintances to do so), esp those concernes with Indology and Hinduism, such as Chowkhamba), to use ISBN in their publications, because some Wiki editors insist on ISBN, although it was introduced into India only in 1985 and still 60% of publishers do not care about it. Publishers are merchants, and they will care only when a large number of prospective customers lodge their protests. Whenever I quote from a publisher, someone deletes my contribution because I quote from non-ISBN book. I do not have a special liking for non-ISBN books, but there are important topics dealing with Indology which have not been adequetely treated in any ISBN-numbered book. See the Surya Siddhanta article, in spite of my protests a fake work by Johnson was preferred by DAB just because it carried ISBN ! These editors interpret WP:RS and WL:V in terms of ISBN, which will be disastrous for Indology because a majority of Indian publishers do not care about ISBN, which they should. -Vinay Jha

Replaceable fair use Image:Asha_Bhosle_Raat.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Asha_Bhosle_Raat.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Videmus Omnia Talk 23:44, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Talk:Rgveda Dating Controversy
DAB who has used more abuses for others than any other editor. See Talk:Utpala where he abused me without any provocation. See Talk:Rgveda (esp. Give a balanced account of Rgvedic dating), where instead of answering any of the points raised by me about his edits, he labelled fictious charges against me. Is Wikipedia his personal property ? Differences must happen in democracies, but DAB does not tolerate dissension and starts abusing even his elders. My students are heads of departments but I can remain in Wiki only if I try to get accustomed to abuses. I merely wanted to inform you; nothing is going to happen because I can withstand greater abuses. --Vinay Jha 23:00, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

नेपाल राज्य, Romanization
Hi,
do you know what the romanization of नेपाल राज्य is? Electionworld Talk? 12:34, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks and a following question
I wonder what at the moment the official name of Nepal is (State of Nepal, Kingdom of Nepal, Nepal or something else) in Nepali (with the Nepali alphabet and romanized) and the English translation. I got the impression that it is not longer officially Kingdom of Nepal. Electionworld Talk? 13:36, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Asha/Lata
Hello Utcursch!
I noticed your last changes to Ashaji's and Lataji's articles. In my opinion, we should keep the Guiness fact in Lata's intro. Because actually she was featured there for a long time and if there are concerns to its veracity, so we can write it. No need to remove. So I added it back. There was another update of yours to the page of Asha Bhosle. I didn't change since I didn't want to revert, but journalists are still journalists. If they have concerns, so we can write that they have concerns and what their concerns are, but I don't find it right to display their concerns as facts, like you did in her page. The Guiness has expunged Lata's name, but still the article says Yet we are now told that Lata's tally has gone up (from 30,000) to 40,000. So nothing is clear and I think the previous statement was quite good (Maybe needs some rephrase) and should not be removed. I mean, Lata's paragraph which deals with this issue still should contain these details - She appeared in the guiness -> Reputed sources provide concerns and claim Bhosle has recorded more. That's all should be written because the issue is notable, and if this singer was featured there (even though there are doubts now), so it is worthy of mention. Journalists say something and I respect them but no-one can ensure that their claims are correct (especially when so many articles say that Mangeshkar has recorded over 30,000 songs).
There is another problem with your rephrase. You wrote this at Asha's page: the entry was later removed, after film journalists and critics counted the number of songs
My question is: after film journalists and critics counted the number of songs - Who said that? Nothing like this is written or indicated there. The entry was removed but there is no reason indicated to this act.
My best regards, --Shahid • Talk2me 23:23, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

Hello Atmaram. Thanks for the enlightenment on the issue on Thiruvalluvar article. But what are your views on cleaning up the lead moving the legendary tales and his religious affliations to subsections. I dont think keeping speculations on the lead for an historic figure will help in anyway to a third party reader but only confuse him/her if the person really existed.
