Please do not add copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder, as you did to Bowvayne. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. • Gene93k (talk) 14:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The text you restored was copied and pasted from Bowvayne's web site (http://www.bowvayne.co.uk/about.html and http://www.bowvayne.co.uk/music.html), where copyright is clearly stated. Therefore it was copyright infringement. Please contribute in your own words and cite your sources instead of copying them. • Gene93k (talk) 14:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please familiarize yourself with Wikipedia's content rules. The article was also written in an unacceptable form and needed cleanup, and it still needs work. Wikipedia cannot and should not simply repost Bowvayne's version of his biography. • Gene93k (talk) 14:17, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Bowvayne II

[edit]
  • The text will need a GFDL-compatible license on the page or a verifiable grant of permission filed with Wikipedia:OTRS. It will take more than an editor's word, especially since copyright is clearly stated. As for reverting the text, WP:COPYVIO is clear on that. Infringing material should be removed. Without an OTRS reference number on the talk page, that text should not be restored. • Gene93k (talk) 22:12, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Even if the material is cleared, it would need to be substantially rewritten anyway. Wikipedia is not a fan site. Bovayne's Wikipedia entry should not be based just on what Bowvayne says about himself and it should not be written in a promotional tone. See Wikipedia policies on WP:Neutral point of view and WP:Verifiability. Bowvayne makes a lot of claims that will need credible third-party references. • Gene93k (talk) 22:12, 25 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that your and Eciccocioppo's "improvements" to the Bowvayne article are unacceptable per Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Please familiarize yourself with the Wikipedia manual of style, which all editors are urged to follow. I said this before, but here it is again per WP:NOT. Wikipedia is not a fan site, it is not an advertising service, and it is not a web host. Please consider restoring the cleaned up version. That article will have to be cleaned up anyway. • Gene93k (talk) 13:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
