Noticed that you're the original creator of the above template. Just a quick FYI to advise that i've updated the template and associated documentation yesterday to do Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) citations. Have tested and works correctly. -- thewinchester 01:40, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah I saw that, that's good stuff. AustLII has a stack of databases there that could still be included, I obviously went just for the major ones to start with (federal courts and state superior courts), but there are many sources, particularly tribunals, which can be added as needed.
By the way, have you seen the WikiProject Australian law yet? If you're interested in working on articles in that area, you might like to consider joining up. --bainer (talk) 01:49, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Tapping

[edit]

Can you tell me then what is the transport convention in articles? RaNdOm26 04:30, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I found a few articles that give more information than the amount used in Heathridge currently. I've noticed Duncraig, Joondalup and Kinross goes into more detail by mentioning the streets the buses travel to. I'm not going to bring it up in WP:WA, you may want to yourself....I'm not all that concerned. But there could afford to be more info or at least give some URL access to more information about bus routes. RaNdOm26 04:51, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AFD Discussion

[edit]

If you're going to list articles in AFD for speedy deletion, at least include the article number that applies. For an example, see here. Also, AFD is not a vote. You need a reason for delete other than just putting per nom. The point of AFD is to discuss the merit of keeping or deleting an article. Please see WP:PERNOM. --Cyrus Andiron 14:26, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't see what the problem is. I put it on the AFD, and I put it on your talk page. My reply is listed in two places. At the time I posted, I do not believe you had replied yet. If you did, my apologies. It's not a big deal if it's posted twice. Yes, WP:PERNOM is an essay. But I noticed that you changed some of your posts to comply with it, so that is good. I'm sorry if you thought I was being uncivil, that was not my intent. All I was doing was pointing out that it is utterly pointless to go down the list of AFD candidates and post "delete per nom" to ten of them. That defeats the purpose of having a discussion, which is what AFD is meant to be. And you can pull out the manual of style because my heading could have been ambiguous. Evidently I'm not the one being uncivil as you cannot handle even the most minute of criticism without latching onto something completely unrelated. --Cyrus Andiron 14:58, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Just out of curiosity, what criterion were you going to use to speedy this one?--Cyrus Andiron 15:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have substantially rewritten the Tiger Airways Australia article. If you change your mind regarding deletion, then changing your vote/opinion may be appropriate. If you have any suggestions for editing, let me know.VK35 21:46, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The entire practice of independently speedying an article of AfD seems nonsensical, and I cannot see its purpose. If an AfD nom. is so clearly worth deletion, 3 or 4 people agree immediately. AfD should take precedence over anything, and a speedy close should be decided on only there. (I know this isnt the present rule, but the apparently arbitrary speedies referred to by several eds above indicate why it might be a good idea. ) Perhaps you could be just a little less hasty. Might want to check your work before using one of the bot's or utilities. You reverted a revert back to the bad change, not a vandalism as your comment states. 131.10.254.61 13:59, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ACP Template

[edit]

Hey, yea i know the template was poorly placed by me, (i tried it in the area its in currently). I think it crumples up the other templates, but its better than before. You wouldnt happen to know a way to make it so that it stays in the centre, and wont crumple up the others? SMBarnZy 11:01, 19 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to tag articles for speedy delete, at least have the courtesy to leave the warning on the talk page of the person who has created the page. Thanks 212.85.28.67 13:17, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirects

[edit]

A friendly observation:

Fixing links to redirects is not the same thing as fixing double redirects. The latter is a redirect that points to a redirect, and therefore doesn't work, and therefore should always be fixed. The former is a link that works by taking you somewhere via a redirect. Most of the time, these should not be fixed, per WP:REDIRECT#Don't fix links to redirects that aren't broken. And if you go around fixing redirects in other people's talk comments, sooner or later someone will whack you over the head with WP:TALK#Others' comments.

?

[edit]

Dear “Thewinchester”, I'm afraid those edits of yours do not contribute much to Wikipedia. The link to a website added by me is in fact considerably more reliable than the Jean Anouilh entry at Wikipedia - so I can't see, how the external link could harm us here. As for Rationalist Society, the article is clearly in need of expanding, so I'd rather add something than remove (by a dubious, general statment).
However, don't worry, I've been IP editing before getting registered, so you didn't take me by surprise. E.J. 16:47, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi I am wondering if you have any ideas to rectify the problems with the images in this article as per these discussions?

Hello, Fancyfotowork
Help-me, please
The article Seasons have a problem:
when I choose to Hide "Contents" the figure  ::"http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/1/12/Seasons.svg/266px-Seasons.svg.png" stay overlayed.
I suspect that my Browser ( Firefox 2.0.0.3 ).
Best Regards,

Unfortunately I don't know where to start with this one - it's always a problem when there's lots of large images which need to  ::be displayed that end up stacking. The only solution really would be to shrink the image display on the page and people can click if  ::they need to see a bigger one, but I'm not sure if that would work well in this case. Orderinchaos78 11:38, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
My two bobs worth - is that its not firefox (I have it but hardly ever use it at all, but i checked it out in that mode), ::but the location of the image code and locations within the article itself - because it is rather crowded - the problem is I cannot ::even get the things on my own talk page to sit properly in position ...:) - and if orderincahaos is stumped - It is probably worth ::hunting around for someone who is good with the code - sorry cannot be of more immediate help.
