Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Doncaster rail crash (1947), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page King's Cross. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
Thanks to the contributions of our many members and supporters, WP:YORKS has become a leading local British WikiProject in terms of the total number of articles supported (up from 13,234 last month to 13,279 on 29th April). In the area of GAs WP:YORKS at 139 is ahead of WP:GM who have 85. WP:GM has the lead in FAs at 62 out of a total number of 3,826 articles.
Currently we have forty five Yorkshire featured articles:
The number has been kept deliberately low to give us a fighting chance of improving them to at least GA status, also so we can concentrate our efforts on these first.
Snap general election
In addition to the usual local elections,
with the calling of a snap general election there will be a lot of changes required to articles over the coming couple of months to update the candidates and results for these in articles. There may be a set of new articles required for new MPs elected this time.
We also need to keep an eye out for any bias in articles about those standing for the election and to keep strict ballot paper order for the election results tables in the constituency articles before the results are know. We all have our views on this but we must remain as neutral as possible.
WikiProject Yorkshire Collaboration of the Month Project
The May 2017 articles selected below are an editor choice as there were no further suggestions from the project talk page.
The project is subscribed to a clean-up listing which lists articles tagged with various clean-up tags that need attention. The listing is refreshed by a bot on a regular basis.
Monitoring is essential Use the watchlist to keep an eye on changes to the project's articles so that vandalism and spamming can be removed as quickly as possible.
Moves Please be careful when performing articles moves and ensure that you also move all the talk sub-pages and update any image fair use rational. Otherwise the archives, to-do lists, assessment comments and GA reviews get lost and the image may be deleted as it has an incorrect FUR. You will also have to check that the Commons link is set correctly.

Hi. I'm really sorry I lost a couple of your good edits. The article needed to go a bit further back to lose the vandalism. Apologies. DBaK (talk) 08:27, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

Keith D Hi Keith; I did consider that, but the only reliable source was very scant on detail. Disused stations has one, but my book of The Lost Railways of Yorkshire's East Riding doesn't even list the station at all! Without an RS, I felt it safer to leave it out. If I can dig up more about the racecourse, then perhaps it would be easier - I did read somewhere that it had the longest straight in all of England, though again, that is without an RS. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 22:43, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
Best I can find is a public notice that mentions it in the Stamford Mercury - Friday 24 August 1888 page 2. Keith D (talk) 23:02, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Change of page name
Hi, I notice that the 'list of people who mysteriously disappeared' and the 'list of missing people' keeps getting changed. I find it very frustrating because I just changed the list of people who mysteriously to the list of missing people on many article pages and I don't want to have to do it all over again. I myself like the name the list of missing people better. Can we resolve this issue, so it doesn't keep getting changed back and forth? Also I need to ask you opinion of what should go on the missing person list and what should go in the solved cases list, because I am unsure sometimes of what should go in what category. Davidgoodheart (talk) 04:28, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
Davidgoodheart Hi; first off the article was changed because one user requested it without first informing the community on the relevant talk page here. The 'Mysteriously' part is retained to separate out listings such as Lord Lucan and Jimmy Hoffa. Lucan intended to disappear, whereas Hoffa, presumably, did not, so Lucan does not get listed on the article page. Finally, in the solved cases; if a body is found or the person turns up alive (IE Agatha Christie) then it gets moved to the solved cases area. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 05:44, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
If someone is known have escaped from jail or kidnapped, but it is unknown what happened to them after that, what category should they be listed under? Davidgoodheart (talk) 06:43, 28 July 2017 (UTC)
Hi Zoyetu. Thanks for the additions, however, I have moved one of the images to the infobox and deleted the last ref about the plaque unveiling as the citation did not list the page number in the Yorkshire Post. Please feel free to re-add the citation providing you can supply the page number and ISSN of the paper. I have looked for an online version, but couldn't find it. Regards. The joy of all things (talk) 14:03, 29 July 2017 (UTC)
Hello The joy of all things. I had found the article using PressReader, a digital newspaper distribution service. Unfortunately I cannot find the page number of the newspaper, however the link to the article as seen on the aforementioned website can be seen here: Link. I do not have an account with them, so I am unable to read all of the information. If you have access, this will display the page number of the article and you will then be able to attach this to the reference in the article. Cheers! Zoyetu (talk 29 Jul. 2017 16:11 GMT.
