Username concerns
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/The Extreme Sport Challenges Association, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "The Extreme Sport Challenges", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 17:58, 19 November 2013 (UTC)
- Why can't I edit Wikipedia?
Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.
- Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?
Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.
- What can I do now?
If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.
If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:
- Add the text
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page. - Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
- Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. --Orange Mike | Talk 05:44, 31 March 2014 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 11:45, 7 December 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Amie (singer)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Amie (singer) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 17:25, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

Conflict of interest
[edit]If, as seems likely from your editing history, you are associated in any way with the subjects of the articles you have created or edited (e.g. on Kieran Goodwin and the charity fundraising teams etc he has participated in), you should take note of the Wikipedia:Conflict of interest policy. In particular, you should note that Wikipedia takes a very dim view of contributors who use Wikipedia for purposes of self-promotion, and for promotion of individuals and organisations with which the contributor is associated. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:39, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Rest assured I have no connections with Kieran Goodwin. You will have to take my word for this, how else can I prove this to avoid deletion of the page? I already am aware of the self-promotion policy on Wikipedia :) But I can assure you the contribution I have made has not been for promotion use at all. How can I fix this? Dragonfly009 (talk) 21:42, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- I very much doubt that you can 'fix' it given your editing history, which consists solely of relentless promotion of Goodwin and related matters. Anyway, the article has now been submitted for discussion regarding proposed deletion, and other contributors will no doubt make their own minds up on the merits of the article. AndyTheGrump (talk) 21:50, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Incidentally, they might also ask where, if you aren't connected with Goodwin, you got the details you added in this edit from? [1] Where were they published? AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:35, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- And can you clarify what connection the User:The Extreme Sport Challenges account has with this one? The talk page for that account (which self-identifies as Goodwin) redirects to this talk page. As does User:Kieran3004. AndyTheGrump (talk) 22:49, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
- Myself and a colleague held a short telephone interview with Kieran to discuss these details, which is fine. We thought in creating the Extreme Sport Challenges Association user it would be creating their page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragonfly009 (talk • contribs) 22:53, 28 February 2015
- You added someone else's personal contact information to a Wikipedia user page after conducting a telephone interview with them? Why? AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:05, 28 February 2015 (UTC)
I did not add personal information. He knew why we were calling and the information we asked for was not personal.
- The page User:The Extreme Sport Challenges, which you've just said you created, contains Goodwin's personal gmail contact details. Why did you put this information on Wikipedia? AndyTheGrump (talk)
- And is User:Flydragon another of your accounts? [2] AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:58, 28 February 2015 (UTC)

Multiple Accounts
[edit]It has been found that you have been using one or more accounts abusively or have edited logged out to avoid scrutiny. Please review the policy on acceptable alternate accounts. In short, alternate accounts or people to support you should not be used for the purposes of deceiving others into seeing more support for your position. It is not acceptable to use two accounts on the same article, or the same topic area, unless they are publically and plainly disclosed on both your and the other account's userpage.
Your other account(s) have been blocked indefinitely. This is your only warning. If you repeat this behaviour you will blocked from editing without further notice. Thank you. Mike V • Talk 01:05, 1 March 2015 (UTC)
