Adoption
OK. adoption accepted. You may have noticed, I'm a visual arts participant and want to improve those pages. I actually have come up with a project to get more visual arts contributors by teaching one-day classes in art galleries in and around new york.Warrenking (talk) 15:31, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sure, sounds great. Just tell me what you need any help with, and I’ll be glad to assist. Cheers, The Arbiter★★★ 14:05, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Images
Hi Arbiter. One problem I've been having is that images I've put up have been removed. This is disappointing. One person who removed them said they should be creative commons tagged but it seems to be ok to have images under Non-free 2D art tags or non-free with permission. What's going on here? I can understand the creative commons preference but the images weren't replaced with anything, just taken down.Warrenking (talk) 17:13, 27 September 2010 (UTC) My images continue to be challenged and removed. Also, the notability of hashtagclass is also being questioned. Do you have any feedback for how that page could be improved? It seems apparent why it's notable to me. I wish that people would participate and edit a page themselves rather than just suggest its deletion.Warrenking (talk) 19:06, 27 September 2010 (UTC)
- Sorry, I'm a lurker here and noticed no answer yet. The Arbiter is not quite as active as he has been in the past due to real life intruding ;-) In general, Wikipedia prefers free images. Non-free images should be used only when there are no alternatives, and with proper permissions. When you do this you can't just tag it, you have to get the permissions registered too (there is a process for this, but I've never had to use it yet). I also took a look at your hashtagclass, and it looks like you are running into something I almost got an article deleted for. The first sentence should establish why you think the "series of events" are notable. What kind of event? What was it about? Why was it organized? Who organized it? You can deal with dates and other less important issues later, but you should try to summarize the answers to all of those questions in some way first. Deletionists tend not to read the whole article if notability isn't established first. Donlammers (talk) 15:11, 27 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hey Warrenking, I’m so sorry about not getting back to you sooner. But Donlammers basically answered your question. Thanks Donlammers! Let me know if you need anything else. The Arbiter★★★ 18:25, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Your RfA
Hey, sorry about that. RfA can be a bit brutal. Just remember, though: almost everyone said that you'd make a good admin one day, you're just not quite ready yet. Keep doing what you do, but broaden your horizons a bit and, in a few months, when you're thinking of trying again (I'd say at least 3), feel free to ping me and ask for any advice. All the best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:09, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Haha I understand. Wow that was a tough experience, but hey, I learned a lot about where I need to improve, and what work I need to do. Thanks so much for being encouraging and giving me good positive advice. Cheers! The Arbiter★★★ 00:15, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hey, my first attempt was pretty disastrous, too! I passed my second attempt four moths later, though. There are worse things that can happen, so keep your chin up. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:20, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- I most certainly will. It's because of editors like you that we can keep our heads up and keep working. The Arbiter★★★ 00:22, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- WHAT why did you not tell me you had an RFA??? I would have supported you. ZooPro 02:02, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well yes I had an Rfa, but unfortunately it ended VERY quickly (not even half an hour). I just need more mainspace edits. Which is why ZooPro we need to start a Zoo collaboration! Hahaha. Cheers, The Arbiter★★★ 14:51, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ah yes good old mainspace, dont worry about it, my advice just go to everyone of the zoo articles and add a word lol. ZooPro 01:00, 30 November 2010 (UTC)

Questions about adopt-a-user
Hi Arbiter -- thanks again for agreeing to answer a few questions for me about the adopt-a-user program. I'm involved currently in some historical data analysis of the program, with the idea that what I learn will be shared with the community to hopefully help improve it. I see you're an adopter with multiple adoptees... how did you get into that role? Were you an adoptee yourself, or did you discover the program through other means? I'm trying to better understand what motivates adoptees, both to sign up and also to continue with the program. Obviously, not all newbies ask to be adopted... have you a sense of what distinguishes those editors who do choose to be adopted, in terms of their goals, their behaviors, or their experiences? Also, please let me know if you're willing to answer more questions; I've got more to learn, but I don't want to pressure you either. SeparateWays (talk) 17:54, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Hi SeparateWays! I've set up a page here. I'll answer them there. And yes, keep the questions coming! Thanks! The Arbiter★★★ 02:41, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you! I've added some more questions. (Are you watching that page, or should I post here when I've added something?) SeparateWays (talk) 19:20, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I always watchlist most pages...I'll see if you add new ones! The Arbiter★★★ 02:08, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
editing
Thanks for the greeting. It's been 4 days since I first edited and I have over ten, why can't I edit semi-protected pages?. LittleJerry (talk) 21:40, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hey LittleJerry! Apparently you have not gained confirmed status yet. Normally, this is automatic after you've edited for a while, but if you want to be confirmed now, you can request it here. If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask! The Arbiter★★★ 02:04, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
