Adoptee Question

Hey! I thought that I wrote on your guestbook yesterday, but I can't find it there. Maybe I didn't save it, idk.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you again for wiki-adopting me. I was just wondering how the whole mentorship program works? Also how am I supposed to ask you questions? Arb, I found some images for Taylor's article, the one from Commons is not great, but it's free,so I put it in for her. I found better ones on Flickr, but they are not released for commercial use, so I know they are NOT OK for commons, but I'm not sure if there is a loophole in wikipedia that will allow them to be used -- the copyright is looser than fair use, but not a free license, so your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to help wade through Wiki's Byzantine image upload rules to see if they might work, and I'm making that YOUR way to help Taylor! Assessment of Articles

Yes u can assess and re-assess articles, Though there is little to do on that front as i pretty much assessed the 200 pages on the list some time ago and i check the list once a week. though i have no objections if you re-assess anything i stuffed up as i am sure there are a few. I would appreciate some help with the WikiProject Mammals assessments though, i got it down from 600 or so to 160 but it takes up alot of time. On the zoo members front i think we should develop a banner that goes in with the zoo talk page template, i will get onto that asap infact, ill bring it into my sandbox and if you have any ideas feel free to jump on in and change it. Hmmm... much better, I would say. Although it still slightly sounds like an advertisement, it isn't really trying to sell the product. Maybe try making it slightly less listy, as most sections are kind of in list form. The Arbiter★★★ 18:02, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

Im an ACI User, i was looking through the logs and noticed your account had been suspended i checked to see if you had been notified and you hadn't so i decided to ask you. Userbox Renaming

Nice. :) So, the HTML codes for colors can be found in the article Web colors. To rename it, move it to the template namespace. So, I moved a userbox to Template:User WPZOO, for example. Then, I can just put it on a page with {{User WPZOO}}. Only the template namespace works for this. I hope this helped, The Arbiter★★★ 02:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Article Amaris

Hi, I juste wanted to know if you had time recently to take a look to the articel I wrote about the company Amaris. In an hold message, I told you that I have create an article, wich is juste a traduction of the article on the french wikipedia ; and I do not understand why my article has been deleted from english wikipedia, but not from the french version. Moreover, Alten or Altran have an article about their company on the enslish wikipedia, and we both work on the same market, so I don't understand. Ok, so I read the the article. First of all, I don’t understand what “Sysun Technologies” has to do with ”Amaris”. Besides that, the entire article is written as if you are advertising yourselves. The “group vision” is there, and there are the names of all the staff members. I’m guessing from your username that you work for Amaris. Remember that Wikipedia is not a means of promotion. If you really think that the company Amaris is notable, you should rewrite the article from a neutral point of view. Try to make the article not sound like you are advertising yourself. Essentially, don’t put the group vision, names of head employees, numbers of employees, and things like that. I recommend that you rewrite the article as if you were an outsider writing about what Amaris is, not as if you were an employee trying to spread the word about Amaris. Hi Diforeverf! First of all, when you start a new conversation on someone's talk page, make sure to click the "new section" button at the top of the page. That way, I can keep my messages organized. And as for your question, generally, you do not need permission to join a wikiproject. I'm sure the Lady Gaga wikiproject would be happy to have a new member. I have my own agenda because I have articles outside this project that I track and work on (which is why I'm listed as semi-active). However, I have made changes to the Denver Zoo (just this past weekend) to update the site, and a few things in the Phoenix Zoo, and I got Red Panda up to GA (yeah, I know, that's mammals, where I don't claim to be a member yet). I would love to know what either of you think would be required to push the Denver Zoo at least to GA status (I'm just doing things as I think of them, but I think it's past "start-class" which is where it's rated now).Donlammers (talk) 02:03, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
