A tag has been placed on The Colorful requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Self-aggrandizement and conflict of interest

[edit]

If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article User:SydneyWayser/Sydney Wayser, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. You should wait for others to write an article about subjects in which you are personally involved, as you did at User:SydneyWayser/Sydney Wayser. This applies to articles about you, your achievements, your band, your business, your publications, your website, your relatives, and any other possible conflict of interest.

Creating an article about yourself is strongly discouraged. If you create such an article, it might be listed on articles for deletion. Deletion is not certain, but many feel strongly that you should not start articles about yourself. This is because independent creation encourages independent validation of both significance and verifiability. All edits to articles must conform to Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, and Wikipedia:Verifiability.

If you are not "notable" under Wikipedia guidelines, creating an article about yourself may violate the policy that Wikipedia is not a personal webspace provider and would thus qualify for speedy deletion. If your achievements, etc., are verifiable and genuinely notable, and thus suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later. (See Wikipedia:Wikipedians with articles.) Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 01:40, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sydney Wayser has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

lacks notability. autobiography.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi, although I nominated the article for its deletion discussion, it was actually deleted by Mark Arsten. He's not edited for some month's now but is in any case unlikely to restore text deleted after an AfD. It may be that you now meet the notability criteria and a new article could be created. Please read the following carefully.

  • Before attempting to write an article again, please check that the topic meets the notability guidelines, and check that you can find independent third party sources.
  • Read this guidance. This is important since it leads you through a process that otherwise carries a high risk of further deletions through failure to follow our guidelines.
  • You said I'm happy to have my team sort that out. You have an obvious conflict of interest and you must declare it. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that you are notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also guidance for editors with conflicts of interest and writing about yourself.
  • You are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article about yourself at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly. Regardless, anyone writing on your behalf is required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose their employer, client and affiliation. They can post such a mandatory disclosure on their user page. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=SydneyWayser|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block.
