Information icon Hello, I'm Kautilya3. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Separatist movements of Pakistan seemed less than neutral and has been removed. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 17:27, 15 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently been editing India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan which has been designated a contentious topic. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially-designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

I think you need to stop beating on this drum and go find something else to write about. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 09:10, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So in your opinion "Azad Kashmir" accurately represents a neutral point of view?
Russia has occupied parts of Ukraine. There are soviet names for many of the cities in Donbass region. Would wikipedia be updating all the city names as per what Russia calls them? Sumukhs2013 (talk) 11:30, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome to write and publish your views in magazines or newspapers. You can't do so on Wikipedia. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 13:09, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It is not my "view" if it is the truth. Till now I haven't seen any justification for calling it Azad Kashmir apart from the fact that it is called so by Pakistan. Considering it is a disputed territory and Pakistan has chosen to add an adjective "Azad" to the name to score a political point as well as send a subtle hint to jihadists that it stands with them in their aim of purging Hindus & Sikhs from Kashmir.
If you want I can share even Al-Jazeera articles calling "Azad" Kashmir as "Pakistan Administered Kashmir". I don't understand how Wikipedia claims that it wants to be neutral and not realise that the adjective "Azad" added to Kashmir is deeply political, divisive and signalling to radical islamists who want to completely eliminate Hindus from the region. What kind of proof would be necessary to change this view? Sumukhs2013 (talk) 13:33, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't you embark on a crusade to rename Jammu and Kashmir to "Indian occupied Kashmir" or "Indian administered Kashmir" as well? Solblaze (talk) 11:21, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
