Recent history

[edit]

First of all Central Asia and the Caucasus is pro-Russian journal, no doubt. Secondly footnote 9 is quoted from „South Ossetia“which comes from Encarta Encyclopedia. And sources like this don’t count for sources. Thanks! --Serafita (talk) 11:33, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Serafita, you are wrong. Both Swedish independent scientific journal with international board of editors [1] Central Asia and the Caucasus, and global leader company in information technologies Microsoft are well respected sources and may be used in articles. Comments like the one above on the pages of newcomers are very unhelpful. FeelSunny (talk) 08:05, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you would be interested in working on this article. There are many Georgian users editing it, and it would be nice to have editors from all sides involved. FeelSunny (talk) 08:03, 6 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unproposed stub types

[edit]

Greetings! Two or more stub types which you created have been nominated for renaming or deletion at Wikipedia:Stub types for deletion. The stub type most likely doesn't meet Wikipedia requirements for a stub type, through failure to meet standards relating to the name, scope, current stub hierarchy or likely size, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. Please feel free to make any comments at WP:SFD regarding this stub type, and in future, please consider proposing new stub types first at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals! This message is a boilerplate, left here as a courtesy, and should not be considered personal in nature. Grutness...wha? 01:20, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ossetians

[edit]

Hi Bouron, I just tried to add more details concerning the southern Ossetian tribe. We can discuss the issue further on the Talk:Ossetians page, if you think there's something wrong with my edits. Kouber (talk) 09:33, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

2008 South Ossetia War title

[edit]

I would like to know your opinion concerning a proposal I made, which I think represents a decent compromise.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 03:09, 23 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was hoping you could offer your opinion specifically on whether you think the proposed compromise title is an acceptable alternative.--The Devil's Advocate (talk) 17:49, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Your question from 19:42, 20 May 2010 (UTC). Only now got around to read it. The answer is simple: According to Russia, Georgia hit the Russian peacekeepers right at the start of the war. According to Georgia, Russia invaded Georgia right at the start of the war. No matter who is right, in either case both have been at war with each other from the very start. --Xeeron (talk) 12:14, 26 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Template

[edit]

--Gaeser (talk) 08:33, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Gaeser (talk) 09:10, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Madloba! I hope we will successfully collaborate in wikipedia.--Bouron (talk) 09:16, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why second map in Infobox mountqin?

[edit]

Hello, Bouron. Could you discuss your reasoning for adding a second map at Template talk:Infobox mountain? Thanks! —hike395 (talk) 12:30, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I reported about my contribution at Template talk:Infobox mountain--Bouron (talk) 13:14, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps I can clarify the status of the problem. The map currently on the page is found at Caucasus topo map-blank.svg. Plastikspork took the time to integrate it into Template:Location map Caucasus mountains. It took about about a half hour to write the template. See here. It seems Plastikspork went out of his way to help satisfy you. Like all of us Plastikspork did this voluntarily and was not obliged to do so.

You are correct, in my opinion, that a labeled map would be more satisfactory but none exists in English. There is one in French here. Apparently there was once an English version. Translating and tweaking the French version is possible but it requires skill in editing Scalable Vector Graphics (svg) files. I'm not sure why the English version is not available. Perhaps the borders are out of date or something.

I suggest that if you want to pursue this issue further you should get the French version modified and translated into an English version. There are editors who do this kind of work voluntarily. Maybe you could ask at Wikipedia:WikiProject Maps.

If you succeed in getting an English version created, contact me and I will integrate it into a Location map template. Best of luck. –droll [chat] 05:25, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. There is also a Russian version at File:Caucasus topographic map-ru.svg. –droll [chat] 05:42, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I replied on the template talk page.--Bouron (talk) 11:02, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Scythian Language

[edit]

Hello Bouron,

you called me a ""clear turkish propagandists"". Beside the fact I am German, I think I want you to apologize to me, because I constantly emphasized the Iranian character of the Scythian language.

Or are you just confused of the "list" I've made with neutral facts? Iranian words are going to be more completed in near future. I think you should respect my aim to be neutral.

Cheers!

Tirgil34 (talk) 00:27, 20 January 2012 (CET)

Don't mislead. I didn't call you propagandist. The authors you mentioned there mostly are unnotable and folk-history makers. E.g. Zakiev claimed that turkic peoples inhabited Eastern Europe many centuries BC.--Bouron (talk) 23:49, 19 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There is no theory of Zakiev. There is just mentioned Karl Bouda as a short neutral reference. For further information, see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. There could have been living turkic peoples in eastern europe many centuries bc, see Budini etc. But this is not for sure, because Pliny and Mela later changed the "Iyrcae" of Herodot into "Tyrcae" and "Turcae".--Tirgil34 (talk) 10:38, 20 January 2012 (CET)

Of course the ip is still vandalizing Iranian(Ossetian..) articles [3]--96.255.251.165 (talk) 14:46, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you check the Nart Saga article? The sock-master is claiming that the word Nart is of Mongolian origin..He usually puts a source that is either Fringe (and cannot be found) or manipulates the source (he has done that multiple times). It seems the same sort of people also vandalize Iran related articles (Greek and Armenian ones as well). Perhaps in the future, a special task force in Wikipedia should be setup to deal with such users as it is not a single incident. --96.255.251.165 (talk) 19:42, 2 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution.
The theory of Mongolian origin of the word Nart is not fringe theory. For example, Abaev supported it.--Bouron (talk) 13:13, 4 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

OS Wiki

[edit]

--Yurik (talk) 06:51, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Project.--Bouron (talk) 11:30, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

South Ossetia is a disputed region and partly recognized state so in infobox there must be bouth  Georgia (country), and South Ossetia too! --Giorgi Balakhadze (talk) 16:31, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bouron, why are you deleting Populated places in Znauri district category ?? "Znauri" is correct name "Znaur" is incorrect ! (Source Wikimapia) you are doing bad thing!--Balakhadze ႫႨႼႤႰႠ 20:00, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The name of this town is disputed. But the name of district is not. Znaur district is virtual thing. It is defined in the constitution of South Ossetia as one of its districts named "Знауыры район" (based on Ossetian name of Znaur). If you have source which uses alternative name based on Georgian name of Znaur then please let me know. Without that source the name is not disputed and it have only one version. --Bouron (talk) 20:20, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
08:05, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
