State of Palestine

You can see on www.rulers.org or on www.worldsatesmen.org, in the sections about history of the Palestine, it is a State of Palestine, proclaimed in 15 Nov 1988 by Palestine Liberation Organization which remains ineffective but receives diplomatic recognition from some states and which has a own organization of the state It has in common with Palestinian National Authority only the person of the president. The Parliament is Palestinian National Council and the government of that is Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization. In fact, it is a party-state and rather a government in exile before the 29 Nov 2012. For PNA the Parliament is Palestinian Legislative Council, elected by the people of the territories, and it is a government lead by a prime minister. On 29 Nov 201 2 Palestine after the request of foreign ministry of PNA (PLO has not a foreign ministry, only a Political department which manage also foreign relation) obtained the status of non-member observer state status in the United Nations and in 6 Jan 2013 Palestinian Authority renamed itself State of Palestine (move not recognized by Israel). Therefore, at this moment it is a big difference between the state of Palestine proclaimed by OEP, which has nor a prime minister nor an elected Parliament and State of Palestine, which is the new name of PNA. Maybe in the future will be unification between the two entities, as it was proclaimed, but in present, they are totally different. Concerning Gaza Strep or “Hamastan” government, which considered it the right government of PNA, and has even an acting president it is a situation in one sense like in Syria, with Syrian National Coalition. I already explained this on the talk page but someone deleted the post without leaving a trace. Finally I want to recommend you, in order to be impartial, not to use in your articles about Romania, books about historical, political and social matters published after 1944 and before 1990, because these books had the mission to prove some political thesis. Banta Socialist Party was a small party with a little number of sympathizers and this is the reason for what it is lost the lections not so called “terror, intimidation and vote-buying by the Liberals on the polling day”. A real terror was established by communist party after 1944. I do not “vandalize” the post of others so I did not change you article. Thanks for the feedback, however, there are still some differences here.

First; rulers.org and worldstatesmen.org are not WP:RS.

Secondly; the PLO, PNA and SoP are intertwined. The January 2013 move to use the name State of Palestine for the PNA administration does not constitute the proclamation of a new state. It just meant that the PNA now officially acts on behalf of the State of Palestine (proclaimed in 1988). PNA already existed as part of the PLO framework and State of Palestine is an entity linked with PLO.

Thirdly, 'Hamastan' is a term invented in Israeli propaganda, that tries to portray Gaza as distinct West Bank. However, the Fatah-Hamas dispute is not analogous to PRC-RoC or Syrian situation. Even after the split the Ramallah and Gaza PNA administrations maintain contact, in fact the PNA in Gaza is funded through funds channeled from the PNA in Ramallah. The Gaza PNA has made no attempt to seek diplomatic recognition, nor ruled out reconciliation. It is a dispute within a body for local administration, not the emergence of a separate country.

Fourthly, on Banat Socialist Party, the article clearly states that this was a claim made by the party. It doesn't go into details of whether this claim was valid or not. --Soman (talk) 16:03, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
