Hello and apologies for my revert of your edit on the above. I'm afraid I got you mixed-up with the IP:86.833.92, who has been constantly altering BBC series and BBC News articles without any sources - and has been blocked multiple times. Regards and apologies, David, David J Johnson (talk) 12:22, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
- @David J Johnson: Oh, no worries. I did wonder whether it had been a mistake since you had thanked my edit before reverting it! All the best, Soaper1234 - talk 12:45, 14 January 2018 (UTC)
Holby
Hello again, Thanks for the reversion. The only reason I deleted was that it was made without reference or source by a IP who has been blocked multiple times for that reason. Regards, David J Johnson (talk) 21:58, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
- No worries about it! The IP address is obviously vandalising pages and you have done an excellent job at tackling their edits. I suppose it just happened to be that this once, they were fine to do so! :P All the best, Soaper1234 - talk 22:10, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
DYK for John Gaskell
On 19 January 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article John Gaskell, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that fans noticed Doctor Who references in a promotional trailer for Paul McGann's first episode in Holby City as John Gaskell? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/John Gaskell. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, John Gaskell), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thanks for your work on Jack Callahan
Hey Soaper1234, thanks so much for your cleanup on Jack Callahan! I will paraphrase those quotes ASAP so thanks for pointing that out. I am more running it for GA as it will point out the faults on the article so I can take it to its full potential as I want my first "proper article" on Wikipedia to be the best as it can be! This way I can go on to making more articles minus the mistakes. I only stated editing last year on Wikipedia so just bear with as I go through my teething stages! — Hatio93 Talk 07:15, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Hatio93, no worries. I noticed how it had potential to be a great article but it just needed tidying up a bit. Like I stated, the article needs paraphrasing a lot as there were too many direct quotes, but we've all been there. Good luck for the future Soaper1234 - talk 19:53, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 19
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jack Callahan (Neighbours), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Daily Star (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Babe Smith
Hello I noticed you changed Babe's car back to a Robin, its not a Robin, its a Rialto. The shape is obvious enough as to the model and even Annette Badland herself refers to it as a Rialto. Have a look at http://www.reliant.website/rialto_hist.shtml — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.96.178.118 (talk) 22:55, 7 March 2018 (UTC)
- I reverted the section on Babe's car because it is all unsourced. I think that a section on Babe's car is a great idea - it would just need sourcing and development. Also, do you have a source that states that Badland refers to the car as a Rialto? Soaper1234 - talk 07:31, 8 March 2018 (UTC)
Hey
Hey there. With the new selection of Holby infobox pics could we perhaps use more of the promotional image? I believe they look better as they show the character's work uniform. Not an entire image, just a portion like used in Oliver, Sahira, Eddi, Guy etc.Rain the 1 17:39, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Raintheone: Yeah, I would be happy to do that. I don't really know why I only did the face if I'm honest as I've always preffered the slightly longer shots. Nice to see you back online by the way :) Soaper1234 - talk 19:38, 17 March 2018 (UTC)

Rollback granted
Hi Soaper1234. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 18:09, 13 April 2018 (UTC)
And also
Hi Soaper1234, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 18:12, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

I think it might be wise to remove or strike the part of your comment that encourages the IP of a known sockpuppet to possibly try and circumvent their block. Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:37, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

Did you know what’d be interesting? You edit the Chicago franchise pages quite a bit… why not make articles for half of the motive characters on it? Especially the likes of Alvin, Connor, Jay, Sylvie, Boden, Ruzek, Trudy, Daniel, Will, Gabby or Maggie? Shakil's funeral
Hi,
Just to let you know I've created this article in userspace about the EastEnders episode covering Shakil's funeral. Apparently the episode will make part of TV history as it's the first time something like this has been done! I would be grateful of any help :)--5 albert square (talk) 20:44, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- @5 albert square: Brilliant idea! You beat me to it as I had been thinking about creating one. More than happy to help you out :) Soaper1234 - talk 21:11, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- Yeah, I heard somewhere this week that it will be a British television first because it changes the format that EastEnders is usually screened in because it will have input from real-life victims of knife crime. A few reliable sources have said it will be British TV history because no British soap has done this before. I don't remember any soap doing it before! I'm hoping it will be quite a big episode. I'm wondering if they will try and get every current regular cast member with the exception of Dot in it? One of the reliable sources showed Kat at the church which I was surprised at as Kat didn't really know Shakil. I hope Brooke Kinsella is in the episode but that's going to be weird as she played Kelly! Hard to believe it's 10 years since her brother was murdered.--5 albert square (talk) 21:54, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
- @5 albert square: There are so many questions as to how they will do this! I think I read a tweet from Brooke Kinsella saying her father would appear in one segment. I'll try to find it and drop it into the draft. Soaper1234 - talk 10:26, 24 June 2018 (UTC)
DYK for Halfway (EastEnders)
On 29 June 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Halfway (EastEnders), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that actor Tony Clay was asked "Dude, what have you done?" on Twitter when his EastEnders character, Halfway, shot a popular character? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Halfway (EastEnders). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Halfway (EastEnders)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

DYK for Louise Mitchell
On 18 July 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Louise Mitchell, which you recently nominated. The fact was ... that when she successfully auditioned for the role of Louise Mitchell, actress Tilly Keeper thought she was auditioning for another character? I spent ages writing that out why does it matter people will know more now. Do u have OCD or something? Was it effecting ur life that it was there. Don’t bother sending me a like about “being friendly in Wikipedia” because u dont deserve my patience. I’ll be writing out those storylines again👍 Pdineen03 (talk) 19:38, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
Also you version looks like it was written by a 5 year old. Like c’mon Pdineen03 (talk) 19:43, 21 August 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Pdineen03. Sorry that you feel like that. It is encouraged that plots are not lengthy and I believe the plot written by Raintheone was a lot less complex and easier on the eye too. I would also strongly disagree that the plot appears to be written by a 5 year old - I would even say that that is quite rude. Just a heads up, if the storylines return, they will likely be reverted. I'm more than happy to open a discussion about this on the talk page should you feel this is necessary. Thank you, Soaper1234 - talk 19:57, 21 August 2018 (UTC)

RonBot (talk) 17:15, 9 September 2018 (UTC)
Changing my edits
Please do not change my edits if you are uninformed. Mr Fitzgerald appeared as a one-off character, he does not deserve his own section (ESPECIALLY when characters who have appeared in multiple episode, like Tyler, are still in the "other" section. Also Evelyn appears before Vicky, so no idea why you vandalised that edit and placed Vicky first. Connorguy99 (talk) 20:12, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- Connorguy99 - That's not how Wikipedia works. Nobody has "ownership" or "exclusivity" to article content, and you cannot tell other editors to stay away like this. If there's a dispute, you're expected to peacefully discuss them on the article's talk page and help them come to a consensus. Please do not message other editors like this and shoo them away; as a member of the community, you're supposed to help other users, be respectful, and encourage collaboration. Thank you :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:14, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- This user PURPOSEFULLY edited my work over a series of separate edits with the desire of PREVENTING me from reverting them easily. This was deliberate. Connorguy99 (talk)' —Preceding undated comment added 20:16, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Connorguy99: First of all, I'd like to make it clear that I don't appreciate being spoken to in such a rude manner. I haven't vandalised anything. A section had been created on Mr. Fitzgerald because there was enough sources. If you can find enough sources (for development/reception) for Tyler, he can get a section. He's only in others because nobody has created him a section. Please do not remove Mr. Fitzgerald from the list as he has enough development for a section. A reliable source is needed to say that Evelyn appears before Vicky. I will be reverting the recent edits on List of Coronation Street characters (2018) to the last safe revision. Please let me know if you have any other concerns, and thank you Oshwah for your input. Soaper1234 - talk 20:22, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- I didn't mean to speak to you rudely but it isn't nice to find work disregarded with so little care, with excessive edits to prevent swift reverts. If you revert the edits, so will I and we will be caught in an edit war. Connorguy99 (talk) 20:24, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Connorguy99: Thank you. Obviously, I would like to avoid an edit war so I am prepared to explain my reasoning. I would appreciate it if you could explain your reasoning too. Mr. Fitzgerald is a section I created, so likewise I don't want to see work disregarded with so little care. He remains with a section because there is enough development to have a section. When looking at the revert you made, other changes included in your revert include the unexplained removal of sources and more development in the Evelyn Plummer section, and the addition of names in the lead which don't need adding. Without sounding rude (and let me know if you feel I do), I don't understand what work I am disregarding by reverting your edits. Soaper1234 - talk 20:31, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

- @Connorguy99: I've noticed that you have reverted my edits again without reason. These edits include expansion of Evelyn Plummer's character and Vicky being moved below Evelyn, per your instruction, as well as the section of Mr Fitzgerald. I don't appreciate my edits being labelled vandalism as well, so I would be more than appreciative if you could stop calling it vandalism. Soaper1234 - talk 20:38, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

- I have created a section in the talk page to discuss the matter. Connorguy99 (talk) 20:33, 10 September 2018 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) Connorguy99 - It's quite understandable to feel frustrated and perhaps upset after seeing changes you've made and the time you've put into those changes being reverted - trust me, I know :-). But you don't want to run at other editors with pitchforks and torches because of what happened. Usually, there's a reasonable explanation for this. And don't worry, all edits made to every page are saved in the page's history and can be retrieved and viewed at any time. I appreciate your follow-up and for explaining that you didn't mean to be rude to Soaper1234. I encourage you to simply keep in mind how your messages and words can come out and be translated by other users, to do your best to use words that translate to others as civil and welcoming where possible, and to step back and take a moment if you're frustrated or upset and to never respond or message other users while you're feeling angry - that's when uncivil and heated words come out and statements made that you'll probably wish you could take back later. It looks like you've both started a discussion on the article's talk page - excellent! Work with Soaper1234 and come to a positive consensus. Keep positive, work together, don't edit war, and things will work out in the end :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:39, 10 September 2018 (UTC)

Hello there. What is the deal with fellow Wikipedians editing other editors talk pages? I am aware that BrooklynGlassey123 has removed content from my talk page without valid reason to. I can see that you have reverted it, and I am grateful for that. Yes, I may have had this account for a year, but there are still a few aspects of Wikipedia that I am not familiar with. I am aware that the abovementioned Wikipedian has been known for making disruptive edits in the past, and that is why I have raised this. I would appreciate some advice as to what I can do about it, if there is anything. A response would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. User321a (talk) 19:43, 12 October 2018 (UTC)

Surnames on the Current List
A consensus was reached on the "List of Coronation Street characters" talkpage where it was agreed that the characters should be listed with their current names. Your repeated changes to this is vandalism. Connorguy99 (talk) 20:24, 22 October 2018 (UTC)

- Please watch your tone and remain civil in discussions with editors. As I have once stated, the majority did not say that. You said that. Soaper1234 - talk 19:33, 24 October 2018 (UTC)

Archiving
Hi Soaper,
You enquired about archiving via an user script. Here's what I use:
IamBot put in the article title, and select "Add archives to all non-dead references (Optional)" to create archives for all references in an article. However, if you simply go to - View History on any page, then "fix dead links", it'll automatically fill in the title on the right page. You simply need to click the radio button, and submit to add archives.
There's a few scripts that I know of that make this work easier, such as Tidy Citations from Sam Sailor, or Evad's rater script that I would suggest! Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 14:49, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Lee Vilenski: Brilliant, thank you! I shall try it out now for Adrian "Fletch" Fletcher. Thanks for all your help. Soaper1234 - talk 14:58, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- No worries. I did a few more things to that particular article so you can see how they work. I particularly like the DMY script, as it makes everything uniform; which is something I look for in a GA. Lee Vilenski (talk • contribs) 16:20, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Lee Vilenski: Thanks for the edits - it looks much better now! Soaper1234 - talk 18:35, 1 November 2018 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:MyraMcQueen.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:MyraMcQueen.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 03:53, 14 November 2018 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Disambiguation link notification for December 15
An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Dawn Steele, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Monarch of the Glen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver).
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 09:24, 15 December 2018 (UTC)
See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages.
