[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Naval Strike Missile, without good reason. They should have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. If you would like to experiment with page titles and moving, please use the test Wikipedia. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. BilCat (talk) 00:57, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi BilCat,
- I did leave a reason, which was "To remove confusion for people searching for "JSM" or "Joint Strike Missile", or being directed to here from links such as "Joint Strike Missile (JSM)", and wondering why they seemingly incorrectly (but actually correctly) got sent to "Naval Strike Missile"". This reason is clearly visible in the edit history of that page. The "Naval Strike Missile" actually now has two names, the "Naval Strike Missile (NSM)", and the "Joint Strike Missile (JSM)", thus it seems to me that is perfectly correct for the page name to be changed to reflect that.
- If you think that is not correct, then please explain why.

- Several reasons: We don't generally include variants in the title, as it makes the title too long. Also, we don't generally include abbreviations in with the full title. Anyway, I've split off Joint Strike Missile content to that title. BilCat (talk) 04:42, 5 January 2023 (UTC)
