Josh Duggar

[edit]

👋 You recently changed the Josh Duggar article to add his mother to the infobox. You may want to consider removing the links brackets from her name, as that is a redirect to a TV show. His mother is not in fact, a TV show from what I heard. 2601:2C3:57F:3F80:2CF6:872A:911D:531B (talk) 07:28, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There is no article for the mother. Shaynes75 (talk) 14:22, 29 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Line breaks are allowed and recommended.

It's a help page. It says how to do things. It does not advise on when and where to do them. MOS:LINEBREAKS sets the actual style guideline, and says a single line break between paragraphs only. -- ferret (talk) 17:09, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Right! So why is my trivial edit being so closely scrutinized and censored? Shaynes75 (talk) 17:19, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Because you added two random blank lines between the section header and the section text. This isn't difficult to understand. It literally broke the article formatting. -- ferret (talk) 17:21, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Again it wasn't random. My placement was precise and intentional.
It changed
Com
pute!
to
Compute!
thus making it more readable.
This isn't difficult to understand Shaynes75 (talk) 17:32, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, it didn't. I've checked your edit both on Mobile and Windows, before and after. Before, Compute! was not broken into two lines. After, there were two extra blank lines in front of Compute!, creating unnecessary white space between the section header (on PC) or the review template (on mobile). This is against the MOS, and breaking the page for the majority of users. -- ferret (talk) 17:41, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I know what I saw: an improvement. If you didn't see it that's beyond my control. Shaynes75 (talk) 17:47, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's pretty much the issue. You made a change for an issue no one else is seeing. It fixed something for you, but broke something for the vast majority of other viewers. -- ferret (talk) 17:57, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I must be the only person in the world who uses iThings. However, since it didn't happen to you I must be a liar.
You're exceptionally difficult to deal with. No further reply. Shaynes75 (talk) 18:09, 14 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
