Speedy deletion nomination of Sutton Group Real Estate
[edit]A tag has been placed on Sutton Group Real Estate, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. - Before re-creating the article, please discuss how you feel the company is notable and what independent reliable sources can be consulted to ensure the text is neutral. Do not re-create the article without discussion. —C.Fred (talk) 22:08, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not a promotion website; this kind of activity is considered spam on Wikipedia, and forbidden by policies, and usernames that appear to be promotional also violate our username policy. Editing on Wikipedia is not intended to be used to promote anyone, or anything, and its use for that purpose will result in blocking of the account involved.
If you feel that there has been a mistake, please appeal this block by adding the text{{unblock|Your reason here}}
below or contacting the administrator who has blocked you. Your reason should include a clear response to this issue and a new username you wish to adopt that does not violate our username policy. Please check that your new username has not already been taken here. Blueboy96 22:40, 9 June 2009 (UTC)Re: Sutton Group Real Estate
[edit]The primary problem with the article was that it was very heavy on marketing speak (e.g. "The company recognizes the highly personal relationship between real estate professionals and their clients, and its business model places the Sutton REALTOR®, at the centre of each transaction.") and legal boilerplate (e.g. "The Sutton trademark is owned by Sutton Group Realty Services Ltd. ...") while being completely devoid of the things expected of a Wikipedia article such as a neutrally worded description of the article subject with citations to independent third party sources providing verification of the information in the article. In short, your prose was typical of an advertisement or business directory listing and not appropriate for an encyclopedia. I highly recommend you read Wikipedia:Your first article and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest if you still wish to add an article on this subject. --Allen3 talk 22:51, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
