Spelling
[edit]There is, in fact, consensus about spelling, because this has definitely come up before. The general rule of thumb is this: if the subject of an article has a tie to one nation, then that nation's variety of spelling should be used. So, for example, the article about George Bush uses American English, whereas the article about Tony Blair uses British Englsih. If the subject of the article does not have a specific tie to a nation (concepts like orange, color blindness, etc.) then the rule is to stay with the variety used by the first significant contributor and to remain consistent throughout the article. So Orange (colour) uses British English, because the first major contributor used British English, whereas purple uses American English, because the first major contributor used American English. The Manual of Style has a section that explains this in greater detail.
Similarly, dates are expressed differently in different countries. Some nations use month day year (i.e. April 6, 2007) whereas other nations use day month year (i.e. 6 April 2007). The MediaWiki software that runs Wikipedia can change the format depending on a user's preferences, as long as the date is linked. The default is month day year, but if you prefer to write dates different, you can change it in your preferences. Natalie 17:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
The 1985
[edit]Just wanted to let you know that I removed the speedy tag. I had originally deleted the article some days ago. However, after review and some links provided by the creator I think that there might be a slight claim to notability. The members (or some of them) went on to form a notable band (Zombi (band)), they released two albums and toured. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 20:41, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Haha, we're always trying to edit and tag the same articles, Happy Hunting! I appreciate your help Carlo V. Sexron 00:35, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I removed the speedy delete request from this article, the fact they have featured in that magazine suggests they may be notable. However, I reccomend you take the article to AfD. Thanks. J Milburn 01:04, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
- No, neither am I, but speedy delete is only for clear-cut cases. It probably won't be kept, but maybe there is evidence we haven't seen. J Milburn 01:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks man

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Ari Eisinger has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 00:16, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
