- There is a discussion to return this to a redirect. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Skoota Warner. An explanation of the process is listed here. Acebulf (talk | contribs) 00:38, 3 January 2024 (UTC)

- Hey Velella, I can absolutely stop contributions as I wasn't aware those were rules in the Wikiworld. I believe the main thing we were trying to achieve was for Skootas page to not be redirected. Is there a way we can place a semi-protect on that, merely so his information stays his? Let me know, and I appreciate the heads up. Saracward!! (talk) 21:29, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Sacarward!!,
- The criteria for inclusion in the encyclopedia is called "Notability", and it is what the discussion currently centers itself around. The article could very well stand as a non-redirect, if you could establish notability. Here's how you can do that!
- Notability hinges on significant coverage by reliable sources.
- What "significant coverage" means is that we need at least 2 pieces of media that are about Skoota, and those pieces of media need to be significant (i.e. talk about him in length, like a paragraph that specifically talks about his life/career or something of the sort. more than "Skoota has done XYZ and played for UIOP band"), independent (i.e. are published by someone with no direct link to Skoota, interviews might be OK if they're done by a news outlet).
- "Reliable sources" are things that are made public by reputable outlets, which mostly means that the source is known for reporting facts and having some quality assurance. Almost all major journalistic outlets (e.g. newspapers or news websites) are reliable sources. Magazines might be RS, but tabloids are not. Anything self-published like reddit or Youtube, or any magazine you can pay to publish an article on are not RS.
- There are paths to notability for this particular article. They more or less revolve around showing that Skoota is notable outside of the band itself (i.e. for a standalone article).
- I've already had a look, and couldn't find anything that demonstrated notability. There might be something out there. Feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you'd like some help.
- PS. If the redirect itself is problematic, and the absence of any article named Skoota Warner is acceptable, we can do that too. Acebulf (talk | contribs) 23:48, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
