Claire Grogan
[edit]Are you the original author of our Claire Grogan article (the photographer, not the actress)? The edit history of that article suggests you are, although I think the content has been moved around a bit so I'm not sure. Anyway, as it stands the article doesn't really pass Wikipedia:Notability (people). If you are the original author, could you add some info that would assert some notability? I did try to do so myself, but google searches are thwarted by the many misspelled mentions of the actress. -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 22:46, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
What rv means
[edit]You did not revert me as what you re-added was sourced or had an article, please don't use the word rv when what you did was something else entirely, it looks bad on you, me and the project whereas there was no dispute and no reverting just good edits from both sides. Thanks, SqueakBox 18:59, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- Removing unsourced material is always a good idea and in this case I was fulfilling a request made by our founder, Jimbo Wales. And as I say, your edit summary reflected badly on both you and I. I hope you can see what a huge improvement my enforcing this has made to the article and thus your claims that my edits haven't been helpful or constructive are evidently the opposite of the truth as the article looks so much better. I am serious about removing other unsourced material if it is not sourced within a couple of weeks. Thanks, SqueakBox 20:54, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- Oh I don't lack areas to contribute to. I make a habit of following Jimbo's edits as a part of my work here which is what brought me to this page though I am aware there are some similar articles with the same problem. Thanks, SqueakBox 21:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

personal info
[edit]Hi, I've been attacked and threatened enough that I pretty much avoid giving any personal info. I've also been accused of being pretty much every person whose bio I've worked on (except Rosie O'Donnell!) but I'm sure I'll be accused of being her soon as well (I wish I had her wealth!). From AllStar's screenshot above do you get a search box? or just an alternative selection? Benjiboi 02:54, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
Featured List of the Day Experiment
[edit]There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:29, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of The size of Wales
[edit]The size of Wales, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that The size of Wales satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The size of Wales and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). Hi! Women in politics is a current WP:ACID candidate. Expansions of the article (it was two sentences long when I found it) are more than welcome. I saw that you have the page linked from your subpage, so I notified you. Punkmorten (talk) 22:15, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
List of fossil birds stuff
[edit]Hi, can you check redirects after the move (if you have not done so already)? If you like to, why not do the same move with Extinct birds and Late Quaternary prehistoric birds? These 3 are basically the same thing (list) for different periods in time. Dysmorodrepanis (talk) 20:34, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
LOTD under way
[edit]Thanks for submitting a list to WP:LOTD. January nominations are closed and February nominations are open. The January nominee commenting has begun. Feel free to participate in the commentary.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 16:19, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for nominating a candidate. You may want to come by and address some of the feedback you have received before voting begins, which it will in less than 24 hours.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTD) 00:14, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
Exmoor & ecology
[edit]Hi, Could I pick your brains/specialist knowledge? I've been doing some editing on Exmoor & trying to get it up to GA. If you had a few minutes would you be kind enough to take a look - particularly at the ecology section as the article talks about several unique species etc, for which i can't find links on wikipedia & I ant to check that we are naming/describing them properly. — Rod talk 13:25, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hope you had a good holiday. Exmoor got it's GA but if fancied having a look that would be great.— Rod talk 16:44, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
- Exmoor is now at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Exmoor & a reviewer has asked "Why are the birds that you named extinct? What happened to them?" - have you any ideas or sources which might help?— Rod talk 20:11, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
- Brilliant research thanks - could you add something along those lines (with the refs of course)?— Rod talk 21:05, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Herring gull images
[edit]Hi, I noticed you removed this image from the herring gull article. I'm no gull expert but I thought I had correctly identified it as a herring gull. I'm not arguing that it is a herring gull but by any chance could you tell me
- a)what kind of gull is it
- b)how you know.
Also, if you would be so kind... do you know what kind of gull this is.
Thanks -Fcb981(talk:contribs) 23:46, 10 December 2007 (UTC)
