Hello. I wanted to let you know that your recent edit(s) to The Transformers: The Movie have been removed because you cited the information you added to another Wikipedia article or an external wiki. As discussed at WP:CIRCULAR and WP:SPS, Wikipedia and other wikis should not be used in citations because they are not considered reliable sources. You are welcome to re-add the information using a different reference, perhaps from the article you originally linked to. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 19:53, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Doniago. I wanted to let you know that I removed one or more external links you added to the main body of Bullfrog Power. Generally, any relevant external links should be listed in an "External links" section at the end of the article and meet the external links guidelines. Links within the body of an article should be internal Wikilinks. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DonIago (talk) 19:56, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:SOTI Wiki/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, SOTI Wiki. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Draft:SOTI, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. -- Deepfriedokra 06:18, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions other than promoting your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I'd like to request an unblock. I am adding a Wikipedia page for a global business and writing it in a neutral manner. I have referenced similar pages as my guide. Obviously will follow Wikipedia guidelines and rules.

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username would be acceptable(though I would ask if you really want that personal information to be in your username). Thanks for your honesty, but you will need to review conflict of interest and paid editing. If you are only here to edit about your company, you likely won't be unblocked. If you want to be a general, individual contributor, please tell what other subjects unrelated to your conflict of interest you will edit about and tell how your future edits will comply with the policies I mention here. I am declining your request at this time; someone else will review any new request you make. 331dot (talk) 13:04, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

"MF" is taken, so you will need to make another choice. Simply remove "MF" from your existing request and replace it with your new choice. What is your association with SOTI? 331dot (talk) 12:54, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Association is I am a new employee and I believe SOTI is worthy of having its on Wikipedia page. SOTI is mentioned on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Mobile_Device_Management_software. My intention is to have the page as neutral and factual as possible. I am using https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MobileIron as my template. Thank you.

Thanks for your feedback. I have made contributions/edits to other articles prior to creating my draft page. I would edit/contribute to articles which I am interested in but have no association with (i.e. sports teams, my hometown, music, entertainment, etc.) Wikipedia's neutrality is what makes it so appealing and effective and I am endeavoring to ensure the content I produce is just that. I want to adhere to all Wikipedia guidelines. Do you have any recommendations? I have declared any potential COI and how I'm going about drafting content for Wikipedia. Is there anything else I can do to get unblocked? Thank you.

As I said, you are welcome to make a new unblock request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 13:19, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Obviously will follow Wikipedia guidelines and rules. In full disclosure, I am a new employee of the company who's page I am trying to create but I'd like to be a general, individual contributor. Renamed. However, you will not be unblocked to continue violating WP:COI. If you can explain how you will declare your conflict of interest and if you agree to refrain from direct edits about SOTI (for, say, no less than six months or 500 article edits, whichever comes last), feel free to request another block review. Yamla (talk) 13:30, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I would add that Wikipedia is not for merely telling about a company, even if "neutral and factual". Wikipedia summarizes what independent reliable sources state about companies that meet Wikipedia's special definition of a notable company. Wikipedia is not interested in what the company wants to say about itself. As such, staff interviews, press releases, or routine announcements are not acceptable in establishing notability. We're only interested in what others say about your company with significant coverage, from sources that have chosen on their own to write about it. 331dot (talk) 13:34, 4 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
