Kill Bill

[edit]

Your request to move the Kill Bill articles was inappropriate. It was not an uncontroversial move, as you should have known if you had read the discussion on the talk page. There was a reason why the current titles are chosen. At most, you should have started a request to move that would have involved discussion from other editors. Erik (talk | contribs) 11:25, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:RM says, "If there has been any past debate about the best title for the page, or if anyone could reasonably disagree with the move, then treat it as controversial." It is also worth reading WP:COMMONNAME. Erik (talk | contribs) 11:34, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thanks for catching my contradiction mistake about Atlantis (novel and film). It's always good to be vigilant in finding errors (even mine). I will re-check sources and correct accordingly. ~Eric F 184.76.225.106 (talk) 09:15, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Avengers

[edit]

The problem is with how they are calculating it. It doesn't match any adjustment calculator. They are inflating the figures further than they actually are. If you look at other adjustment calculators they don't match. I have an issue with BOM adjusting the figures and not telling you how they are adjusting them (as most adjustment calculators will provide the formula and the information as to where they are getting the figures). Considering that, I have a problem with calling them "adjusted". Granted, adjusted or not, The Avengers is the highest opening weekend regardless. That is why I opted to just remove the qualifier period, because it's the highest in both adjusted and unadjusted.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 15:47, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think that is where BOM is doing something different. They are calculating based solely on what the average ticket price is, and not actually based on what the dollar is worth in the current market. That is a flaw in their calculations, because although the ticket prices have increased over the years the value of the dollar is not proportional to the increase in retail costs. If you look at this calculator, it actually touches on the idea of the worth of a dollar by comparison to the inflated price. I think the most accurate, if we really need to include the line at all would be "adjusted ticket prices". I say that, because when I read "in adjusted dollars" or "adjusted for inflation" it is referring to the inflation on the worth of the dollar as compared to a previous year, and not on the inflated costs.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 16:02, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of Highest-grossing films

[edit]

I've had to revert the table size alteration you made on the franchise table because it cause disallignment in the expanded sub-tables. The table itself is just a holder for the collapsible templates, and the table size is controlled by the collapsible templates. The problem here is that it took a lot of time and editors trying different template sizes on several different browsers to get it working for all of them, so we can't make size changes without knowing how itaffects different browsers and resolutions. If you can explain on the talk page and provide us with your browser and screen resolution, and a screencap of how it looks on your monitor I will take a look at the problem for you. Recurring cast table

[edit]

Hey just to let you know, I don't mind the aesthetical changes to the table, but the table should be alpha sorted as to show a NPOV.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:18, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and we had something like that early on, but the problem is that it still is a POV based on our own opinion as this is a article about the entire universe and to my knowledge there are no reliable sources relating to the importance of these characters within this universe as a whole. Though as it seems it is common sense we are still bound be WP:V.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:34, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You would still be suggesting that the characters in The Avengers and perhaps the film itself is more important than the others.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:40, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That just suggests an in-universe chronology. And would complicate matters as we get further into Phase Two.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 21:48, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Another suggestion might be just to remove the table all together and point readers to List of Marvel Cinematic Universe cast members, which is sorted by both release order and alphabetically. The list is getting pretty long anyways.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 22:03, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
What if we reduce it to characters who have appeared in multiple franchises? That would include Banner but eliminate minor characters like Everhart.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 22:42, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Let's try that and see how it goes.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:09, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good, maybe a note at the top explaining its only characters who have appeared in multiple franchises.--TriiipleThreat (talk) 23:16, 29 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
