Jack Merridew

Reading the case file I noticed this comment from you

"He wasn't asking to be allowed to edit from more than one account so that he could make socks and go back to harassing Cool Cat – for heaven's sake, if that's what he wanted, he'd have done it"

Well he did not to mention the nonsense he caused evidently since January this year.

Just wanted to inform you since this guy has done this to me time and time again. :(

-- Cat chi? 20:14, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

You miss the context: that Jack spent two years editing productively and without creating socks to bother you. His recent edits have been born of the frustration of finding that even after those two years, there's no chance of returning to good standing.
I'm grateful that you felt the need to inform me about Jack's former interactions with you, but you can rest assured that I've done my research myself and I'm fully aware of your history.
Take my advice and drop it now. Jack's gone, and you don't have to give the impression of being so desperate to smear him. --RexxS (talk) 15:21, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

I figured if anyone knew you would... In your work with tables, specifically tables with photos, have you found a way or tried to make one that would collapse unless selected by a mouse click? I am wondering if a table of images could be made but only viewed if the user makes an action. Similar to the way the navigation boxes collapse at the bottom of the Oxygen toxicity article. Thoughts? Thanks! --Gene Hobbs (talk) 14:04, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Hey Gene, would something like this do the trick? It's not terribly accessible, but I can embellish it for you if you want? --RexxS (talk) 15:10, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
That would be perfect! Let me do some digging for a few more photos for the article and I'll let you know when I am BOLD enough to try it. Access is not the first concern, I am tired of the complaints over "gross" images that do serve a purpose. It shows up on my watchlist daily since I added refs to the article. Time to try something new and stop the occasional edit wars. New residents next week so it may be a little while.
Also, on the DCS FA effort, I talked to a few people about writing articles that could serve as refs for a more "global" view. If all goes as planned, they will hit the medical journals in a couple of months. Thanks! --Gene Hobbs (talk) 15:42, 30 June 2011 (UTC)

Manchester wikimeets

Hi Rexx, thanks for coming to the last Manchester wikimeet - it was good to meet you there. If you're interested in coming to the next one, it will be on 17 September (as we agreed during the last one) - more info at meta:Meetup/Manchester. Please sign up if you're coming, and also please sign up on the notification list if you want me to nag you about future Manchester meets. :-) Thanks. Mike Peel (talk) 19:33, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Many thanks, Mike - I'll aim to make that meet but I'll confirm nearer the time when I'm certain I can attend. --RexxS (talk) 23:27, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

PPI Assessment research gets some attention!

hi RexxS, I wanted to let you know that FactCompany.com reported the Public Policy Initiative research. They noticed all of our hard work on article quality assessment! And, I presented some preliminary results of the Public Policy Initiative today at the Wikipedia in Higher Education Summit; it was very well received by academics. They were impressed with the rigor of the research and that is due in large part to your efforts. So yet again, Thank YOU! I will keep you posted as I continue to get the results out there. Also, if you would like a token of appreciation (aka Wikipedia swag) send me an email (aroth@wikimedia.org) and let me know and I will get a package out to you later this month. all the best, ARoth (Public Policy Initiative) (talk) 02:10, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

using tables for image display

Hey man. Hope work is settling down. But no worries. I am still kinda stuck on the basic concept of what we did in painted turtle (all four species, top and bottom, using a table). I find that your table is much nicer way to show things than the default gallery. Also that organizing images in some fashion (not just pretty pics, poked into text) can be a functional way of showing information. Not a brainstorm or anything and really something people do on Powerpoint all the time. But Wiki still does not do that much in general. Just think we should keep looking for ways to layout pictures better.

FYI, I put the Ames photos back in for Featured Pic. It's actually one where the default gallery works OK, since the shorts are so "tall". But take a look (and mess with if you want).

Peace, bra.

Scuba diving

Hi RexxS, I am planning to go back to Scuba diving and sort out the section on decompression sickness soon, but probably not today. Cheers,Peter (Southwood) (talk): 16:40, 24 July 2011 (UTC)

That's great, and of course there is no deadline. I think I've sorted out the {{Expert}} template for you, and I'm probably the major contributor to Decompression sickness, so if you need a hand with anything, give me a shout. --RexxS (talk) 17:59, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Done for now, take a look some time and let me know if there are any aspects you think need work. Also done major rehash of Diving regulator, which was in a bit of a mess. If there are any technical articles on diving that need work, give me a heads-up. I am fairly knowledgeable on Rec, Tec, Scientific and Commercial. Pls see the actual list. When I try to color the Dem and Rep in the Lt Gov column it goes blank. And why does that same table only go 2/3 way across the screen instead of all the way. Note the Territory Gov table I made does go all the way across.PumpkinSky talk 01:33, 19 August 2011 (UTC)
That's an odd interaction between <span> and {{ubl}} that I hadn't seen before. Simplest work-around while I sort out a proper solution is to use wiki-markup (*) to create a bulleted list. That's not so bad, as the table seems to have plenty of room for bullet points. If you want the table to extend across the page, just set the width of the table to 100%. I've done both of those for you to see if you like how it looks. The reason the previous version was full-width was that each column had a width specified as a percentage - although I always prefer to let the browser sort that out, as I can never account for all the different possible combinations of screen width, resolution and browser. YMMV. It's getting a bit late here (3 am BST), so I might not respond to more probs until the morning. Nevertheless, you can have fun experimenting - reverting is cheap! --RexxS (talk) 02:02, 19 August 2011 (UTC)

Pretty!

Check out 'Zilla-dolled-up-for-party beautifying ANI here! :-) Well, assuming somebody hasn't already reverted her by the time you see this. Reverting is cheap, indeed! They're great believers in removing images on that board. :-( Bishonen | talk 23:41, 19 August 2011 (UTC).

I don't intend to put it to the test, but I reckon I can produce new images almost as fast as they can remove 'em. 'Zilla in a swimsuit for the Summer collection, perhaps? I'm sorry to say Greg is in the mood for leaving — check out his pages. I don't know if he's the kind of wikipedian who leaves once a week — I don't know him – but I have no fellow feeling at all for the bastards who chant "drama queen, ha ha" whenever somebody leaves and then is pulled back by the addiction a few days later. So they didn't leave – so what? They intended to, didn't they? They were upset, weren't they? How is that funny? Grumble.. grumble..

Hyperbaric Medicine

RexxS,

First, thanks for all the fine work you do as a dedicated Wikipedian. The effort you and Gene Hobbs have expended over the years to maintain Wikipedia standards on this page is much appreciated.

I'm hoping to help, and see a number of places where the content and citations don't appear to meet Wikipedia Medicine standards. But I'm hoping improvements can be consensus-based and wanted to reach out to you, Gene, and any other genuine contributors before making any (big) changes.

It seemed uncontroversial to update the links the the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society to reflect their new website structure, so I've done that. (Note that while they're resolving some DNS issues with their service provider the conventional "www.uhms.org" URL re-maps to "membership.uhms.org".) These citations now link to the current pages.

I see a few significant issues with the current content and would appreciate the opportunity to review them with those of you with a standing involvement with the page. As a (very) new Wikipedian I'm still finding my way around and learning the ropes, so I'd appreciate your indulgence in working with me to continue this discussion directly.

I look forward to your response.

Thanks, ajsaulsberry (talk) 17:30, 21 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi AJ, the most important advice for new editors is "be bold". There's nothing you can do as an editor that can't be fixed, so please go ahead and change things. We can discuss any differences of opinion on the article talk page if they arise; and I'm always willing to help you if you get stuck, or don't understand how something works on Wikipedia. I have most scuba pages on my watchlist, so I'll look out for your edits. P.S. putting your email address on one of the most visible sites on the web may attract more than a small number of spammers, so I've blanked it. It's still in the page history if I ever need to email you :) Cheers, --RexxS (talk) 23:14, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, RexxS, I appreciate the advice (and the e-mail redaction). I don't have a problem being bold, but view consensus before implementation as being somewhat more efficient. With regard to hyperbaric medicine in the US, there are legal and public health issues to consider in forming the consensus, and collaboration in defending the consensus will be more effective in deterring crassly commercial agendas. I'd appreciate some insight into the regulatory landscape in the UK, if you're able to provide it, and also the opportunity to conduct a discussion somewhere other than the internet equivalent of a hotel lobby, if you're willing. Accordingly, I'd be grateful if you'd respond via my e-mail address so we might have a (brief) discussion. Thanks, and best regards, ajsaulsberry (talk) 18:26, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Question

RexxS–

Would spanning the record title for shutouts (under "Career pitching records"), runs, or extra-base hits (under "Single-season batting records") in List of Florida Marlins team records across two rows for the two records cause any accessibility issues? Thanks, Albacore (talk) 19:31, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

In theory, the answer should be 'No', because assistive technology should be able work out what the appropriate cell should be when it's part of a rowspan. In practice, it doesn't seem to work out so well, and major websites like the US Inland Revenue Service advise their web designers to avoid rowspan and colspan in case they violate Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Here's a quote from http://www.irs.gov/irm/part2/irm_02-025-005.html - section 2.25.5.4.5.7 Data Tables, Technical Requirements (g) and (h):
  • The scope attribute also works with some (but not all) assistive technology in tables that use "colspan" or "rowspan" attributes in table header or data cells."
As you can see, they recognise problems with some but not all assistive technology. It not just a question of disability, either. You might also have a look at User:RexxS/Accessibility for how a text-only browser can come unstuck with rowspans - and that would affect users who have primitive computers and poor internet connections, such as you might find in less developed countries.
Frankly, I'd always advise against using rowspan just for a couple of cells, especially row headers. The inconvenience of duplicating data is, IMHO, far outweighed by the potential to mess other things up, and keeping things simple is a cornerstone of good design. Sorry, it's not a straight answer, but these issues have a habit of being more complicated than they might seem at first glance. Hope that helps, --RexxS (talk) 20:22, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

This needs to be fixed to remove the white background from the hash tag. This is indeed better than just using the keyboard hash tag because it allow for alt text to display on screen readers in the line the person is reading. So, I just need you to fix it with whatever you know how. Thanks, SaysWhoWhatWhenWhereWhyHow? (talk) 21:52, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

List of Manchester United F.C. seasons

I experienced a sorting problems in List of Manchester United F.C. seasons. To me, the only column that sorted correctly is the "Season". Even the "Goals" which should have simple numeric sorting was sorted incorrectly. Is this only happened to me? Anyway, I already tried both IE, Chrome and Firefox, but the sorting problems still occurred. Any idea what happened? — MT (talk) 19:54, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

Yep, concur, sorting is also bolloxed in Safari... The Rambling Man (talk) 20:00, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Indeed. I'll try now to see what needs to be done to fix it. At least WP:TIND. --RexxS (talk) 22:12, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Well, pretty much as expected, removing the rowspans in the headers allows the table to sort properly. I've also removed the bare endashes from cells as they messed up the sorting as well. Jobs left to do:
  • Fix the inability of {{ubl}} to allow different coloured backgrounds and update 'Europe': 1968, 1991, 1999, 2008;
  • Use ubl to replace the html breaks in 'Top goalscorer';
  • Apply sort keys throughout to make the sort sensible;
Anything else that comes to mind? --RexxS (talk) 22:52, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
RexxS, thanks, as ever, for your input and sorry for always name-checking you. Perhaps you should nominate a few delegates who are as generous with their time and knowledge as you so I don't have to pester you or get others to pester you on my behalf...! One question, why are we using a template like {{ubl}}? Is it really necessary? The Rambling Man (talk) 22:55, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
I think it is in the places I indicated. Semantically, those are lists of competitions, players, etc. so really should be marked up as lists, although we don't want a bullet point (ugly and takes up space in a table). The upside is that screen readers treat it exactly as a list (which is what Graham and others expect it to be); while the alternative (using an html <br /> element) produces the pauses associated with new lines (not preferred behaviour). An additional bonus is that the structure of the page becomes semantically correct, which ought to offer some advantages to re-users of our content who may convert into non-html formats. It's only small improvements, and I wouldn't force them on others, but I feel it does represent best practice.
As for delegating, well, I'm painfully aware that I'm not doing as much routine reviewing as I feel I ought, so I feel obliged to help when someone asks. Nevertheless, after around 30 years in education, I'm still in the habit of try to illustrate what I'm doing. Hopefully anybody tracking through my edits on List of Manchester United F.C. seasons can see what I did, and can probably replicate the processes on other lists. At least I'm hoping so before the RLRC queue gets too clogged up. It's a job that wants doing, so I'm not too dismayed. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 23:12, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Hi RexxS, it's about the list above, I have updated the article and fixed all issues, exemple, if you sorted numbers, (goals, pts, etc..), 9 will be above 10, and 2 in the area of the 20's, not to forget 115 will not be above 99 but above 11. now its fixed, used template sort
I also edited the postion so 1st in second divsion will not be in the same place as 1st in first division but under last position first division had, also the divisions name, I have read from above and previous issues. Can you tell me what you think of it now?, is it good? or should it be touched again.
  – HonorTheKing (talk) 02:23, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the explanation. I was afraid that the sorting problems only occurred to me, since the FLRC was quickly closed so it seemed that there were no more problems with the list. Anyway, great job with the sorting, the list looks really great. — MT (talk) 06:38, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
Yes, you've done a great job, Honor. I'm glad you found the {{sort}} template, and sorry I didn't point you to it last night, but I was rather exhausted by the time I finished - I bet you were too! You haven't broken anything, of course, although you might want to check if those align=center attributes are actually needed as the whole table is centre-aligned because of the declaration in the first line. By the way, if you ever need to sort other things in tables (full names, dates, etc.), there are specific templates to do just that and they are listed at the bottom of {{sort}}. I am hugely grateful (as I'm sure all of the FL folks are) for the work you've done on that list. I know you're a ManU fan, but there's another 40+ footy lists that could benefit from your expertise and dedication! Cheers --RexxS (talk) 16:57, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

Accessibility review request for current FL

Hi Rexx. Seeing as you're the go-to editor for when WP:ACCESS issues appear at FLC, I have a favor to ask you. List of New York Giants seasons, an FL I worked on a while back, was recently tagged for FLRC as part of the recent spree, though it was never listed at WP:FLRC and the tag was removed by another editor. If you get time, I would greatly appreciate a quick accessibility review, which would help ensure that the list meets 2011 standards. It's an older list, but I did put row and col scopes in; however, this is the first list I've done this for and I don't know if I did it correctly. Hardcoded HTML font elements and color types were other things questioned, and I'm no expert on either. I'd be thankful for whatever help you can offer. Giants2008 (27 and counting) 02:11, 27 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi Giants! I found a bit of time at last. As I prefer to do, rather than talk, I've gone ahead and made some tweaks to improve accessibility and markup towards modern standards. Hopefully you can see from each edit what I did. I'm afraid I've opened out the spacing quite a bit - it just helps me with my old eyes to spot row changes, etc. in the wikitext, but although they make it easier to read in the edit window, such spacing changes make no difference to the rendered text, so you can happily ignore them. The only thing I've not found time for is to check if the background colours meet WCAG 2.0 AA standards. You could check that at Snook's Colour Contrast Check, if you get a chance before I do. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 17:54, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

I don't know if this is an inside joke or what. Normally I would revert this edit as an attack. Because you are an administrator, I'll let it stand. If in truth it is an attack, I'll seek redress myself. My76Strat (talk) 11:05, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Context, My76Strat: They're friends, it's harmless, no need to revert anyone. Although I should note that if you do see an actual attack, a) it shouldn't matter if it's an administrator or not, and b) the appropriate action would not be to revert the edit - see Wikipedia:Npa#Responding_to_personal_attacks. Nikkimaria (talk) 11:39, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for that. I hope I wasn't out of line, but I respect RexxS as well. So I would be offended if someone called him an "incorrigible madman". That does not impress me as a comment on content. Because the intent was not clear, and the user who posted it was an administrator, I did AGF and not revert. At the same time, if it was an attack, I find it more egregious having come from an administrator. I hadn't seen the policy you linked until now. I must admit I am more confused after reading it, than enlightened. I can't imagine overlooking an attack as productive, especially as they progress towards requiring oversight. It becomes even harder to ignore, when you esteem the attacked party. Best - My76Strat (talk) 11:56, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
Not an incorrigible madman? Well, can I call RexxS "you esteemed nutcase", then? He'd still need to go to bootcamp and learn to be less nice, you know. Sorry I worried you, My76Strat. Thanks Nikkizilla. Bishonen | talk 13:20, 12 September 2011 (UTC).
Yes, I'm all those things (and probably a few more as well). So please feel free to call me all of them. --Famously Incorrigible (talk)

Quick reminder of Saturday's wikimeet

Hi Rexx, this is just a quick reminder about the Manchester wikimeet this Saturday (17th September). Hope you can still make it. Mike Peel (talk) 23:06, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Mike, I'm looking forward to the meetup – see you there! Cheers --RexxS (talk) 23:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

¤

Hey RexxS. This symbol: ¤ is used commonly throughout a number of featured lists (and current candidates). I don't even know what it's called but I wondered if screen-readers can deal with it? If not, (and I've asked this before, I know), is there a list somewhere I can easily refer to so that I can make alternative suggestions to people? Hope you're well, all the best, The Rambling Man (talk) 18:56, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi TRM, I'm fine thanks - went to the Wiki-meet in Manchester yesterday and enjoyed meeting the folks again. I met JamesBWatson for the first time and it turned out we were at Uni almost contemporaneously - what a small Wiki-world!
Anyway, I'd seriously doubt that the ¤ symbol is likely to be read by any screen readers – like you, I don't even know how it would be pronounced. To be certain, you could ask Graham87 how JAWS copes with it. Unfortunately, I don't know of any list of what screen-readers can deal with, probably because screen-readers differ from each other in their implementations. What I can say for certain is that JAWS can read all of the usual characters available on a standard UK keyboard (with the possible exceptions of ¬ and ¦).
So I'd recommend:
  • * # + and ^
as first choice. Then perhaps:
  • ! £ $ % &
(although you'd have to be certain they could not be confused with the normal use of those symbols). In addition we have the templates for:
  • {{†}} {{‡}} {{↑}} and {{↓}} – producing † ‡ ↑ and ↓
which are useful in sports tables for captain, wicket-keeper, promoted and relegated, etc. If somebody needs more than that many symbols for a key, I might be asking them to have another think about how they are structuring their data. Of course, it is always possible to replace all of the key symbols with reference notes, which can be made to work just as well and are accessible automatically.
Good to hear from you, as always. Hope all is well with you and yours, --RexxS (talk) 21:50, 18 September 2011 (UTC)
Brilliant. Thanks for your advice, will do my best to keep rolling with the access stuff. The Rambling Man (talk) 22:09, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

I saw, James, and thank you for all the research you did. That has to have been one of the most blatant adverts ever to avoid speedy deletion. --RexxS (talk) 10:22, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Looking for an expert on Scuba Diving

Hello RexxS!

My name is Martin Walfisz and I represent a startup company called Planeto (http://planeto.com). We’re currently building a new type of knowledge network where anyone joining the community can be tested on different topics and be awarded expert certificates.

We’re right in the process of launching a small, invite-only beta (complete with bugs and quirks ;) to a few hundred users across the world, and are initially looking for people with existing expertise on a number of different topics.

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you this way, but I saw here on Wikipedia that you seem to have good expertise on Scuba Diving, and I was therefore wondering if you would be interested in curating the Scuba Diving domain?

As a curator of a knowledge domain your effort can be limited to a few minutes per week, or more if you enjoy the responsibility and community. (You can of course resign at any time.)

I can send you an invite to the beta (just send me an email at martin [at] planeto.com), so that you can determine for yourself if this seems fun! Any feedback that you can provide will be very appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

// Martin Walfisz, Planeto

Walfisz (talk) 12:26, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi Martin, thanks for the kind words, but all my limited spare time is devoted to Wikipedia, so I'll have to decline your invitation. Good luck with your enterprise! --RexxS (talk) 16:57, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Hi RexxS, thanks for your reply, I fully understand. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you can recommend another Scuba Diving expert to join our closed beta test. And here's a personal invite anyway (to use as you please)  : http://planeto.com/knbeta?inviteid=be221525-fab5-4c42-b545-5d680f70b307) Cheers! Walfisz (talk) 17:07, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
Thank you Martin. There are only a handful of really active scuba divers on Wikipedia: Gene Hobbs is my usual collaborator, runs the Rubicon Research Repository and is often very busy, but you could ask him. Anthony Appleyard and Steve Harris have been around longer than I have, and there's Legis and Ex nihil with whom I've collaborated on some diving articles. Unfortunately, I have no idea how much time any of them might have available. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 21:22, 30 September 2011 (UTC)

It's on my watchlist. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 02:08, 1 October 2011 (UTC)

Moved from your userpage...

Hello again RexxS. I have now added the original diagram to the Diving Incident Page. As far as I know the Incident Pit had never previously existed in any form. E John T. 13:04, 21 September 2011 (UTC)

FLC question

Hi, I was directed to ask you a question by User:Killervogel5 at Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/Edgar Martínez Award/archive1. Is a table caption required? Specifically for Edgar Martínez Award, it seems redundant with the section title. Thanks, – Muboshgu (talk) 20:46, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

You're right in this case. I've explained as best I can at the FLC, and hopefully that will satisfy KV5. If you need further help, please feel free to ping me, and good luck with your nomination. Cheers --RexxS (talk) 22:10, 5 October 2011 (UTC)

Marking a renamed image as deleted

When you get a chance, have a look at this diff where your bot comments out the lead image of Federazione Italiana Attività Subacquee as if it had been deleted. In fact, File:Fias.png was merely renamed to File:Federazione Italiana Attività Subacquee logo.png last week, leaving a redirect in place. The bot ought not to be blanking from articles any images that have not been deleted, as they work just as well with the redirect. Cheers, --RexxS (talk) 01:09, 10 October 2011 (UTC)

Redirects work just fine, but deleted redirects don't. Ask User:Fastily why he deleted the redirect -- the bot was simply cleaning up after him. --Carnildo (talk) 23:40, 10 October 2011 (UTC)
Indeed, it seems Fastily deleted the redirect at 23:04, 9 October 2011; Your bot properly cleaned up at 00:06, 10 October 2011; Fastily undeleted the redirect at 01:27, 10 October 2011 (leaving no trace of the delete/undelete); I properly notified you at 01:09, 10 October 2011; then Fastily re-deleted it at 04:14, 10 October 2011. A strange sequence of events that made both of us appear wrong to the other.
I would be interested to hear your thoughts though, on whether the bot's commenting out of a file is the best option when a file has been renamed? Ideally, it would spot the renaming and update the filename in the article, but I understand that would take quite a bit more programming and testing. Anyway, sorry to have troubled you and keep up the good work! Cheers --RexxS (talk) 01:07, 11 October 2011 (UTC)

Poor poor Bishonen!

So have you checked your mail at all recently? Page is ugly! Please! [Poor sensitive invalid bursts into tears. ] Improved Bishonen | talk 17:58, 18 October 2011 (UTC).

Errm, it seems that it was the same as before G lit the candles. But now I've wrapped up the archives, bookmarks and RfAs in their own divs and set them inside a table to give some spacing. I don't know what screen width you have, so I'm not sure how it shows for you. I'll do some more if the general layout is ok for you now. --RexxS (talk) 00:24, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
I've increased the page width now, as it was in fact too narrow (quite pointlessly, as there's plenty of room on my screen). My socks may have been messing with such things while I was away, I suppose. (Pod! Is that you, slinking off?) Anyway, pragmatically, I can't say I think it's comely yet, even though stuff isn't overlapping any more, which is good. You know, to my simple-mindedness, it seemed originally as if merely removing the candle images didn't work, then all I'd have to do would be to revert to an earlier, candle-less version, which had looked good, and surely would again. But I was completely wrong. So I can't even look at an earlier version to see what the layout was like… and it's fading in memory. :-( I think the bookmarks thing appeared top right, pretty much on top of the boxtop/boxbottom box, with the archives immediately (but spaciously) to its left, and the self-updating RFA report thing centred below them, by itself. That would give Spumoni the Flutterer a central position, as is proper, and a good big cage. I think that's how it was. All these three on one vertical line will necessarily be tight and squashed. Well, I'm sure that wasn't any help. I'll leave you to it. Seriously, thank you, Rex. Bishonen with room for improvements | talk 02:23, 19 October 2011 (UTC).
Ah, ok. I've sort of re-arranged the items to meet your recollections (actually just looked at this, but didn't like it). Also Spumoni now has a prettier cage. It's all changeable, so let me know if want alterations. --RexxS (talk) 12:04, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
And a new image for decoration to celebrate your safe return to us. Hugs --RexxS (talk) 13:59, 19 October 2011 (UTC)
Hahaha! Rex, thank you so much, I love the new image! How cheering! :-D Improved Bishonen | talk 16:58, 19 October 2011 (UTC).
