[edit]The way to correct information in an article is not to simply add parentheticals claiming that the information is wrong. The proper way to correct the information is to simply change the wrong information to be correct, provided that you have reliable sources to back up your corrections. Please note that your own personal research into the history of the McGuire family is not considered a reliable source (see WP:No original research). Rather, you must rely on material that has already been published in reliable sources such as history books and academic journals. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:49, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
Contentious editing
[edit]In this edit, you changed
Maguire was born in North Adelaide, the eldest son of carpenter John McGuire and his wife Mary
to
Maguire was born in North Adelaide, the eldest son of John McGuire, who was not a carpenter, and his wife Mary
You could just as easily have changed it to
Maguire was born in North Adelaide, the eldest son of John McGuire and his wife Mary
Why the need to specifically be contentious when you can simply correct the existing text? WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:50, 28 May 2021 (UTC)
