User talk:PragerU
Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (PragerU) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because Wikipedia accounts must be for individuals only, who are personally responsible for them, but your username and edits indicate that this account represents Prager University. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account to use for editing. Please also read Wikipedia's guideline on WP:Conflict of interest. I will create a new user name with my own name instead of PragerU. If I do that, will I be able to contribute to and edit a Prager University Wikipedia page? Thanks so much for your help. I'm new to all of this.
- You will not be able to promote Prager University, but you may edit pages related to it. If you are affiliated with the organization, please read our guidelines on dealing with conflicts of interest before editing. Danger High voltage! 17:16, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- Also WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest and (long, but a useful overview) WP:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. The really important thing is to keep your edits neutral - Wikipedia is extremely resistant to being used for any kind of promotion, and one reason for discouraging editors with a COI is that in too many cases they seem honestly unable to understand that PR-speak and "peacock terms" are a problem.
