Orphaned non-free media (File:Aurox.png)
Thanks for uploading File:Aurox.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:14, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Chris Smart
A tag has been placed on Chris Smart requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag youself, please let a sysop do it for you after reviewing it. I apologise if it was too soon, I judged it on what it was, not on what you were going to do Macromonkey (talk) 12:30, 24 February 2009 (UTC)

It's a start. N.G.G. 23:35, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
- Welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome contributions from all - however. Can I question the creation of this task force. Not that we don't need it, just that I wonder one whether the author warrants such a task force yet, also whether there is enough support for such collaboration yet (not demonstrated), and there appears to have been no discussion about the need - support before creation. Open to be shown wrong but please talk to us. We are here to help. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 09:31, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I think that several people will soon join the PJ Task Force. Look, the Percy Jackson articles need to be edited by a collaboration of editors, otherwise their condition will always be poor. I have invited two members to join the task force and am sure that they will join. Soon, we will have many editors in the task force. And the Percy Jackson books require a task force. They are one of the bestselling books of Amazon.com. None of the PJ articles in Wikipedia are better than C-class, so I think that a task force is required for improvement. Pmlinediter (talk) 09:40, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Highly fashionable does not yet mean important. However I will rest that one! Creating a task force and then asking for support is back to front, you should garner a modicum of support first and agreed the need. All you have done is assert the articles are currently in need, agreed but so are 95% of literature article many on more importance material. Having said all that now the deed is done I will attempt to give all the help and support I can. Ask any questions you might have. I have fixed the broken, {{WPNOVELS}} template by the way and adjusted the banner instructions on the main page. Support for this task force will be needed before too long but lets do some other things first. How many articles are well currently talking about. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 10:13, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
Look, I didn't create the task force, NGG did, but I did ask for its creation. And concerning the number of articles, I would place it at above 20. Actually, I am creating an article now so that would approximately make it 21. But this is an estimate since many articles have been created, but have not been merged with the project template. On the other hand, if you really want to help, please join the Task Force. And sign your posts. Pmlinediter (talk) 09:56, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
- Oops sorry about the signature. I'm not getting at you you just happened to have you head above the parapet at the time. I will join, but as you will find joining and actually doing work are two different things. I will do what I can to assist. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 10:13, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
I don't realize what you mean about the parapet part.Pmlinediter (talk) 10:20, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Your note
Hi. I'm not sure what you mean by my "continuous copyright violation notices." My first encounter with the article was yesterday, when I evaluated its listing at the copyright problems board. Articles that are tagged for problems are listed there for seven days prior to administrator closure. The article has constituted a copyright problem in that material copied from an external site that does not display license compatible with Wikipedia's has been added. Twice. The second introduction of copyrighted material was not by you; this was added by User:Gibalec. At first glance, I did think that you had restored it when you removed the "copyvio" template (if you encounter one of these in the future, please do not remove it; as the template indicates, it is meant to be removed by an administrator) and mistook you for the copyright owner, but the article's history clarified. At this point, there is no copyright infringement in the article's history, as I have already deleted all versions from history in which copyrighted material was included. However, I have no experience with Linux or opinion on the necessity of the article, so I have no opinion about your PROD, except that unless material has been taken from another source as well the article should currently be copyright infringement free.
Given the fact that you cited your source when you added the language, I doubt that you intended any infringement, but we can't use text verbatim from a non-free source on Wikipedia unless we do so in compliance with non-free content guidelines. It may be a brief article, but [1] is clearly not free. Hence we would need verification of authorization to use language such as "It is not a complete desktop, nor is all hardware completely supported; it represents only the core needed to boot into a very minimal X Window desktop, typically with wired Internet access." If you would like more information about how to revise text to avoid copyright issues, you may find the essay Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing of use. It offers some input on the amount of revision necessary to eliminate copyright infringement. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:44, 1 April 2009 (UTC)

PROD(section addition by me)
The template says that it can be removed if it is felt that it is unjustified for any reason and also says that if it is removed, it should not be replaced. --Just my 2 cents -- Hemanshu (talk) 14:26, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Actually, I will be happier if that actually becomes an article like a lot of one-line India-related stubs I have written became. Cheers! --Just my 2 cents -- Hemanshu (talk) 14:47, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback can be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback may be removed at any time.
If you no longer want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Happy editing!
