Your images

[edit]

Why are you removing all of your great images from articles? --timsdad (talk) 04:19, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The image has copy-written elements in it.

As much as I highly discourage you from deleting your images, as they add so much value to the articles here at Wikipedia, it is up to you. --timsdad (talk) 04:38, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Each image has copy-written/trademarked elements. They all have to be redone. I just don't want any legal trouble. Paul Martens 04:41, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Do you mean copywritten by yourself or other people/organisations? --timsdad (talk) 04:47, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I saw you had deleted the route map for the Walt Disney World Monorail System article. After I reverted the deletion, I did check your talk page to see why. If there is a problem, it should be removed, but at the same time an edit summary would be nice so that fellow editors can understand your line of thinking, especially considering how vandal-prone these particular articles are. Thanks. --McDoobAU93 (talk) 06:18, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How to remove your images

[edit]

Hi Paul.

On one hand, you say you don't want others to edit your images and this just follows the removal of your signature from File:Comparisonfinal001fx7.png. This contradicts both the GFDL and the CC-by-SA licenses you put your images under, which say that you let anyone edit your work. You can't delete your images for this reason alone.

On the other hand you claim above that these images contain copyrighted materials. In this case, you didn't have the right to offer them to Wikipedia with those licenses in the first place, and I agree they have to be deleted. I mean properly deleted from the whole WP project, not just removed from the articles in which they appear since they can reappear later there or elsewhere. To delete your images in this way, if the copyright infringement is blatant, follow the WP:CSD instructions for "unambiguous copyright infringement" (section G12). If the copyright infringement is arguable, follow the WP:PUF instructions. Beware that in both cases you have to bring the proof that you did infringe someone else's copyright by posting your images here. — Xavier, 12:34, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
