As a member of WikiProject Comics, I thought you might be interested in the Comics Collaboration of the Fortnight we have set up. Please feel free to vote on the articles listed, although bear in mind that a vote for a particular article means you are pledging to help improve the article. The goal of the collaboration is to improve articles to Featured Article status, as we feel Comics is under-represented in that area. Thanks for your help. Sorry, I am currently suffering from extremely crappy Inet connection ever since I left uni. As a Wikipedian, I am quite nonexistent atm :/ Onomatopoeia 14:15, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

[edit]
Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Criticisms of the Da Vinci Code, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Bayern Munich

[edit]

If you're going to include women, why not start it's own section or it's own page? Kingjeff 03:13, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I admit I really know nothing about the ladies' squad. I could add a stub, though. Onomatopoeia 03:18, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think a single person is expected to write an entire article. Why not start with lets say the ladies squad?. The main article is mainly about the mens squad. Kingjeff 03:20, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to outsource, go ahead. Concerning the men's article, I just had loads of free time yesterday and wanted to show off my some of my soccer knowledge. I am extremely willing to let others continue. Onomatopoeia 03:26, 22 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I started a Bayern Munich (womens' section). If you want to continue go a head.

Can you vote for Bayern Munich's womens section at the article improvement deive @[1] Kingjeff 19:30, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Talk Page Etiquette

[edit]

Hi Onomatopoeia, in regards to this edit, usually content from a talk page shouldn't be deleted (with the exception of vandalism of course), especially if it is relevent to the article. --PS2pcGAMER (talk) 08:52, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, my bad, no malicious intention. But I added the requested info. Onomatopoeia 13:43, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Football AID 29 January - 4 February

[edit]

Football AID 5 February - 11 February

[edit]
Thank you for participating in the Football AID vote this week.

Bayern Munich has been selected as this week's collaboration. Please do help in working to improve it.

I have announced your article at Portal:Germany/New article announcements and on Portal:Germany. If you write more articles about German football, please announce them there. Thank you, and happy editing! Kusma (討論) 16:36, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for fixing up Steve Nash

[edit]

Hey, thanks for removing a lot of the crap in the "Strengths and weaknesses" section. The guy who wrote that claimed it was "perfect" and he was a little over-zealous in protecting it from being edited. I'm hoping this article one day gets nominated as a Featured Article but I think that that S & W section (as it was presented) would've seriously jeopardised its candidacy due to the non-encyclopedic tone of it all.. anyways thanks again :)

100 Greatest Marvels

[edit]

This was a badly executed publicity stunt and method of re-selling reprints to fans in a new package. While it is fine to list it under "trivia" or "critical success" sections, it is not notable enough to warrant its inclusion in introductory paragraphs. Thank you for your edits; if you do continue to add the 100 Greatest Marvels info, please remember to do so in the appropriate areas. --Chris Griswold 07:47, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, then I'll do it again like that... a few notches deeper, as proposed. Onomatopoeia 08:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm really glad this wasn't an argument. I really like what you did, and it works much better now. You improved those articles. --Chris Griswold 09:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

German-English translation

[edit]

Thanks for helping to translate an article listed at Wikipedia:German-English translation requests - it's greatly appreciated, and it would be lovely if you come back and do some more translating. If you do, please move the article listing to the Recently completed translations – proofreading section to make sure it's proofread. Thanks! Saint|swithin 07:39, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thank you for uploading images to articles, but there are some copyright issues that need to be resolved. Image:Wiltlargerthanlife.jpg, Image:Hakeem slam mag.jpg and Image:Mj si 1991.jpg only qualify for fair use if you use them in articles and discussions about the magazines/books, and not when you're describing the cover subject. Please provide a proper fair use rationale or replace them with copyright free images.

Also, Image:Mueller Kanone 1969.jpg is not a promotional image, and the magazine prohibits non-private uses of the images. Finally, Image:Kaprisky.jpg is an orphan image and is subject to deletion. Thanks. Ytny 13:36, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Mj si 1991.jpg)

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Mj si 1991.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image can be used under a fair use license. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. howcheng {chat} 16:25, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

2002-2003 NBA Champions

Thanks for adding the link [2] to the Wilt Chamberlain article — I hadn't seen it before, and I thought it was a very nicely done clip. And thanks in general for your numerous contributions to the article. Myasuda 05:08, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks and no problem. Onomatopoeia 08:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Storm (comics)

[edit]

I had to laugh when I read your edit summary.[3] We'll just see how stable it is... I haven't looked over the sum total of the revisions you've made yet, but thanks for the time and effort. CovenantD 13:55, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, with "stable" I meant the big picture of that article, most of the later edits are more cosmetic. But you're welcome, your words are appreciated. —Onomatopoeia 14:07, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Xme final.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Xme final.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Thank you. Fritz S. (Talk) 16:42, 26 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Quick-fail of Storm (comics)

[edit]
  • Unfree images needing fair use rationales. ==> IMHO none

You must not understand what I mean. Every single image of that article is an unfree image that requires you to say why you feel the use of that image should be considered fair use. Check the images of Superman what needs to be done. For example, in Image:Superman.jpg it reads:

==Fair use rationale for [[Superman]]==
This image, Superman.jpg, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (Steve block Talk) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. No free alternative can exist given the likeness of the character Superman is a trademark and thus protected;
  2. It is a low resolution copy of a comic book cover;
  3. The image was released to the media to promote the issue in question, issue 204 of Superman;
  4. It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the comic book in any way;
  5. Copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the comic book cover art on another comic book;
  6. The image is significant; it was created by a notable comic book artist, Jim Lee. It is the cover to the top selling comic book of 2004[4]; it is the first issue of a lauded[5] run on the book by a notable writer, Brian Azzarello and artist, Jim Lee; and it identifies the character depicted, Superman in an iconic manner, with the copyright owner using the image for posters[6] and promotional work.

Every in the Storm article needs to have rationale similar to that. --SeizureDog 09:05, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OK, thx. —Onomatopoeia 09:06, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
They look good. I'm not going to review the article though, as right now the GAC is pretty backed up and we need to work on reviewing some of these that have been waiting for 3 weeks first. I only do the quick-fail check so that common minor problems can be fixed now instead of learning after they get failed weeks later. --SeizureDog 10:32, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, you post it ASAP. It only counts if you're waiting AFTER you've nominated it :P There's no down time for nominations really. I'm still waiting for Shuffle! to get review and I'm a damn impatient person. --SeizureDog 11:37, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
