Please check the timing of your edits

Please check the timing of your edits, Iknowyourider, I just had created that page and now lost my references due to an edit conflict with you. Go create a page or two instead. Speciate 05:04, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Really sorry. In hindsight my edit was completely gratuitous. Hope I didn't cause you too much inconvenience. --Iknowyourider (t c) 05:09, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
Not too much inconvenience, thanks. Go get some vandals. Speciate 05:13, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Speedy tagging

The Original Barnstar
I award you said 'original' barnstar based on your splendid work tagging articles for speedy deletion and taking the time and effort to warn the original editors. I'm following your every move (and deleting!), keep up the great work. The Rambling Man 16:16, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
Wow, thank you very much for the barnstar! It's appreciated. --Iknowyourider (t c) 16:23, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Ambition Talent

A tag has been placed on Ambition Talent, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Hi, Can you explain the difference between what I posted and the posting for JVA Artists Management? You'll have to excuse me while I learn the particulars of adding and formatting content, I am brand new at this.

Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Newmgmt (talkcontribs) 20:02, 19 Jun 2007 (UTC)

I assume you mean the article JVA Artists, Inc.. Ambition Talent, as I recall, did not make any statements that even came close to asserting the notability of the corporation. Iknowyourider (t c) 20:11, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I'm sorry about deleting the request, I put it back, I am new to this and I was simply curious to see if it COULD be deleted.

Not a problem, dude -- if I thought it was intentional, I would've used one of the harsher warnings :-) --Iknowyourider (t c) 20:48, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I am the creater of the dinosaur hoax page. It is a valid stance supported by many followers and does not violate the wikipedia deletion policy. I plan on updating the page heavily in the upcoming weeks, I just wanted to get the message out there as soon as possible. If there is something I can do to assure the longevity of the page please let me know, thanks! DinoHoax07 15:28, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

the Geller family

Hi Iknowyourider,

Why did you ask for my new article, the Geller Family, to be deleted?

Robert 2302 (Robert 2302 22:22, 20 June 2007 (UTC))

P.S. I have a problem on something on my new article that, as an advanced Wikipedia editor I'm sure, you could help me out on. I'm kind of new at this!!

Thank you!

Deleted Article

I recently began to post an article concerning a robotics behavior control software platform called Skilligent. It seemed that everything that I added and revised was instantly deleted from the page under 'speedy deletion criteria' citing lack of notability as a reason. I assure you that this is a far more notable concept than most of the tiny robot stub articles you allow. Skilligent software provides users a way to actually teach new behaviors to robots without the need for years of programming experience and expertise. This software will undoubtedly revolutionize the industrial, service, and personal robotics industry. Bsshearer 23:12, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

reply: the geller family

ya you're probably right. It will probably be deleted by next week at the latest. Thx,

Robert 2302 (Robert 2302 00:04, 21 June 2007 (UTC))

first world problems

Not sure which user comments I'm being accused of deleting. MisterQuickly 00:10, 21 June 2007 (UTC))

I admit to accidentally leaving out the deletion tags, but I didn't delete anyone's comments from the debate, at least not that I'm aware of. My knowledge of all the coding on Wikipedia is clumsy, but I'm pretty sure I didn't willfully delete anyone's comments. MisterQuickly 00:15, 21 June 2007 (UTC))

Durrr it's stupid that I can't edit cirtain things. I'm just as//more important than the majority of the dead people listed on here, so why can't I have my own page? - P33N. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by P33niz (talkcontribs) 03:50, 21 Jun 2007 (UTC)

Deletion of Article "Stephen Barnes" -

First off, I am very impressed that you found the article so fast, litteraly seconds after it was created.

Secondly, the article is completely legitamate, or would have been if not deleted so hastily. This is my first attempt at creating an article, so I started by creating a very short stub, just to make sure the font and whatnot was in proper order, and was then planning to expand from there - including notability of certain philosophical works; specifically the impact of "Sex, Life, and the Free Market Economy." I do intend to recreate this article, and I do defend the authenticity of the original statement. If you are wondering what a ninja-for-hire is, go to youtube and search the term. You will find that it is a real profession - a performer of sorts who can be hired to show routines at given events, or a street performer of the same nature. Mr. Barnes is considered by those who follow his work to be of the same movement as Bruce Lee: A man interested in the ultimate perfection and understanding of both the body and soul as well as the expression of both by a given philosophy of movement.

Thank you. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Barnessk (talkcontribs) 05:50, 21 Jun 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion

Hi,

I saw you added {{prod}} to 1/3/37. It would be better to use something like {{db-nonsense}}. See WP:CSD and Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion#Deletion templates for more information. Tim Q. Wells 07:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I thought about using a CSD G1, but the page was just barely sensical enough on my personal WP:NONSENSE meter, so I went for a prod instead. Just barely. Almost went for the G1 myself. Iknowyourider (t c) 08:02, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I agree, it was touch and go, better to be cautious. Anyway, it's gone now, well done everyone... The Rambling Man 08:06, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I cannot find secondary sources for Celio, partly because I live in America and do not know French, and even though probably there are articles and pages on Celio in English that are secondary, I really do not know what "Secondary" means. Hey there,

I put in the change to 'Futures' on Arrested Development, linking to the fan-petition for an Arrested Chritmas Special in 2009.

I was wondering if you could help me legitimately get my site referenced on the Wiki page.

I feel the site, www.aresteddevelopment2009.com , is worth inclusion in the article as many visitors to the Wiki page are coming to find out if the show is still broadcasting or if there's a chance the show could come back - I know from my statscounter that a vast number of visitors come from WIki each day (about 250), all helping to give te show's fans a shot at a reprieve.

But in terms of justifying inclusin for Wikipedia (rather than just my own selfish gains), I think a case can be made. There have been 10+ news articles about the 'uprising', as one calls it, I've attached the two biggest ones, one is TV Squad, the second by an Associated Press reporter

http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/07/27/how-about-an-arrested-development-christmas-special/ http://www.centredaily.com/entertainment/story/163061.html

I feel it's currently the most relavent information about the show's future, and I think it's important that Wiki helps give out the information. I'm just hoping you might be able to give me some informed advice as to how to get the site mentioned without crossing Wikipedia's guidelines for entry - even if it's just a mention on the external links panel.

Thanks for your time, Ed

Can SmackBot date uses of Template:Articleissues?

Hey, I use Template:Articleissues a lot when I'm stub-sorting. Sadly, however, it doesn't seem that SmackBot dates these. Would it be hard to change this? Thanks, Iknowyourider (t c) 03:05, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

It dates them when they include something that puts them in a sub category of Category:Wikipedia maintenance categories sorted by month. Rgds, Rich Farmbrough, 10:36 8 August 2007 (GMT).
Oops, so it does. Sorry, didn't see any mention of {{articleissues}} in the bot's documentation. However, it didn't get it exactly right on at least one article: see this diff, where for some reason copyedit was left un-dated. Thanks again! Cheers, Iknowyourider (t c) 14:58, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Academy Awards

{{helpme}} Someone just deleted about 7 Academy Awards articles that I am currently working on and have consistently been working on. They were being deleted literally as I was working on them tonight. I was unaware of their consideration for deletion until this very moment, as I started to work on them. What, if anything, can be done about this? Who can I speak to about this? Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro 03:23, 12 August 2007 (UTC))

What were the names of the articles? You should be able to view a log of actions taken on a page, including deletions (with a rationale), at Special:Log. Don't hesitate to ask again if you still have questions about why the deletions occurred. Iknowyourider (t c) 03:46, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
I did look at all of that information. That is why I posed my original "Help Me" question. This is the link to which I am referring: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of actors receiving six or more Academy Award nominations. What can I do and who can I speak with? Thanks. (Joseph A. Spadaro 03:50, 12 August 2007 (UTC))
Sorry, I was asking so I could better help you. Should have been clearer about that. That AfD discussion seems to hasve quite a bit of consensus behind it; getting the list recreated may very well be an uphill battle. You might want to familiarize yourself with the guide to deletion and also this essay. If you really think the article should be recreated, head over to deletion review.
