Suggestions for HMB436 Assignment
[edit]Hi Nrezvany,
I am one of your classmate for HMB436. Your article is quite concise, and direct (which I do like). There are still a few suggestions I want to make.
- Not sure if is it me, but I think you have mis-spelled the fungus name. Google gave me Geosmithia argillacea, not Geosmithia agrillacea (Take note of the specie name)
- Could include a Taxobox for this article? The markup program is written in week 5 in the coursewiki page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/University_of_Toronto/HMB436H_Medical_and_Veterinary_Mycology_(Fall_2015)/overview
- Most of the points made in physiology section should fall under disease. Physiology is more about the fungus, such as what is its optimal growth temperature, what molecules it needs, etc.
- Does this fungus have any synonyms? Try: http://www.mycobank.org/Biolomics.aspx?Table=Mycobank&MycoBankNr_=314410
- What do you mean the exact environmental sources are unknown? But then you talked about some isolates were found in different locations. Should provide more explanations here.
- You could categorize the points about the fungus being an opportunistic pathogen and its first invasive infection into a the disease section
- For more medical influence of this fungus: http://cid.oxfordjournals.org/content/52/6/e136.full and http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2897494/
- For a more general article, you could try http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/809128 and http://www.mycobank.org/Biolomics.aspx?Table=Mycobank&MycoBankNr_=314410. These sources indicate that the name Geosmithia argillacea is a older name for this fungus, and Rasamsonia argillacea is the new name.
- The two sources also have other information that you could include in your article
Try to carefully organize the facts into their proper sections, because it will be easier for the readers to find the necessary and relevant information Hope you enjoy this course.
