J-XX

[edit]

Hi Nohomers48. I've just reverted a change you made to the J-XX article because Wikipedia does not favour one particular set of English spelling rules over another. The policy is not to change from one national variety of English to another, unless the subject of an article is specific to a particular region (for example, our article on Abraham Lincoln should use US English spelling and vocabulary). Since the J-XX article was contributed in British English and is not about a US topic, the policy is to leave it in British English. --Rlandmann (talk) 01:36, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's no problem; you seem new here, so there's no way you could have been aware of the policy (which is why I pointed it out! :) )
FWIW, however, the Macquarie Dictionary reports that both "program" and "programme" are used in Australian English, and that "program" reached Australian English via American English. --Rlandmann (talk) 13:30, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Common year starting on Monday‎‎

[edit]

Hello. I see you edited Common year starting on Monday‎‎ to return to the template format. Whilst I agree that the your version looks better than the previous one, we are having a discussion about what the page should contain at Talk:Common year starting on Monday which you may wish to join. The points there also apply to the similar pages Common year starting on Tuesday, Leap year starting on Monday, etc. Certes (talk) 13:25, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please update your status with WP:VG

[edit]

Dear WikiProject Video games member,

You are receiving this message because you have either Category:WikiProject Video games members or {{User WPVG}} somewhere in your userspace and you have edited Wikipedia in recent months.

The Video games project has created a member list to provide a clearer picture of its active membership.

All members have currently been placed in the "Inactive" section by default. Please remove your username from the "Inactive" listing and place it under the "Active" listing if you plan on regularly:

Ideally, members are encouraged to do both, but either one meets our criteria of inclusion. Members still listed inactive at the beginning of November 2009 may be removed. You may re-add yourself to the active list at any time. Thank you for your help, and we look forward to working with you.

T-55s in Cape Verdean service

[edit]

Hello.

Could you tell me where you got the information about T-55s being in service with the Cape Verdean army? I'm asking because I didn't find anything in my sources.

Regards. - SuperTank17 (talk) 23:09, 20 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There doesn't seem to be any actual references supporting this information. None of the references in the article you mentioned say anything about T-55s being in Cape Verdean service.
Regards. - SuperTank17 (talk) 16:15, 21 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Even if it was sourced it's still very vague. It doesn't mention exactly what medium tanks Cape Verde got. We only presume they were T-55s.
