[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Waking the Cadaver (Band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Hey, I don't really care for them, but if I was WTC, I would be pissed that i was a band with millions of views that can't get on Wikipedia. I mean, Justin Bieber is on here, so why can't they be?
Re
[edit]Let me begin by saying that I totally agree with your sentiment; I myself am a big metal fan, and I wish we could include these bands. However, the reason at the top of the Rings of Saturn AfC submission pretty well describes it. That's not permanent, however; if these bands later do get signed to a notable record label, or have a song or album that charts, we could then have an article on them. Read WP:MUSIC- of all the specific notability guidelines on Wikipedia, this is by far the most developed and helpful. If you have any other questions or want help, feel free to ask me. Thank you, but seriously, there's a lot of metal bands on here that don't get hits on the charts. Most metal bands don't, especially not some of the obscure deathcore bands and other shit on here like that. Plus, WTC gets millions of youtube views. You think that would count for something... NS (talk) 04:05, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm with you, but the problem is that people try to put all sorts of shit here. We have WP:GARAGE for a reason; that's not really the case here, but you'd be absolutely stunned at how many people try to create articles on the band they formed two weeks ago. There's one particularly amusing example at the bottom of WP:GARAGE if you want a laugh. The issue with Youtube hits is related to the unreliability of Google hits; sometimes people will artificially inflate it with a variety of techniques (it's called Google-bombing), and it's impossible to tell if that's happened or not. As an aside, I did take a listen to Rings of Saturn; I'm not a huge deathcore fan (I'm more of a prog-type; Rush, Cryptopsy, Into Eternity), but it wasn't too bad. I hope they make it. Lol, that did make me laugh. And i'm not a huge deathcore fan either, i hate suicide silence, but i think rings have a nice technical sound, and they have gotten gigs. And especially for Waking the Cadaver, they have put out two albums on a label and played many festivals and large gigs....so what's up with that? NS (talk) 23:17, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
