I did not write the article in Bengali. the cite i posted is a newspaper article of the city of Habiganj/baniachong Sylhet Bangladesh that talks about NAsiruddin sipah salar's history there. It is a historical site, has a museum and a shrine of almost 700 years old with writings and history behind it. (SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 01:58, 23 March 2018 (UTC))

Speedy deletion nomination of Nazida Syed
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Nazida Syed, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. —Wasell(T) 04:39, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 12:33, 14 August 2024 (UTC)Why would you block me when I still havn't even been able to figure out how this website works? - Do you have questions on the guide to appealing blocks? Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 17:49, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- A successful unblock request will likely need to address the fact that your account has been used only to promote you and your family, not to build an encyclopedia with a neutral point of view. Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 17:56, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- I had no idea that Wikipedia changed their policy to only allow so-called "wiki experts," who we now have to pay, to create successful pages. I mean, I'm Miss India New York 2021—I'd think that’s significant enough for someone to write a page about me, not to sound cocky. Plus, my family is directly related to Syed Nasiruddin, and our names—my father’s, grandfather’s, mine, and my brothers’—are all mentioned in the book written about him by Dr. SM Ilyas. How much more legitimate does a page need to be? Is this what they call "self-promotion"? What exactly isn't self-promotion then? Should I just sit back and do nothing? I don’t mean to be rude, and I know you didn’t make these rules, but can you explain to me what’s the point of having a Wikipedia profile if we’re not allowed to edit or write anything, even when there are hundreds of accomplishments to our name? What would actually be considered "good enough" for Wikipedia? And if we can’t write anything ourselves, why are we even allowed to make a Wikipedia account in the first place? SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 18:18, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Congratulations on your win and myriad accomplishments! As for your current situation here, my gentle suggestion is to focus on the above guide to appealing your block, as you will not really be able put to use the answers to these questions while still blocked. You are always free to search or consult pages like Wikipedia:FAQ/Article subjects, which may answer some of your questions. For example, it says,
Should I pay someone to write an article about me or my organization? No. If you have been contacted by someone who proposes writing an article, it's probably a scam
(bold original). Sincerely, Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 20:33, 14 August 2024 (UTC)- I have msged about unblocking the lock on y profile. I don't know if someone saw it or not. Thus I am having to hire someone else to write that page now as "self promotion" isn't allowed. Which is kind of crazy. These people charge up to $4999 to maintain these pages. All of it seems like a scam. The people blocking my page, and the people asking for money to create a page. I also got flagged or locked or blocked for repeating the same statement in 2 places. i don't even know how to reply back to these msgs here properly. Looks so rediculous. A simple chat option would have been so great. instead of this. SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 20:44, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please do not - DO NOT - pay anyone money to create a Wikipedia article for you or anyone else. This is a well-known and very lucrative scam (click this link for more), and many people get suckered into it. They will take your money and not produce anything, or produce something that's completely useless.
- I know you very much want an article about yourself and members of your family. Please, before you continue, read through this essay on why having an article about yourself isn't always a good thing (link). And don't pay anyone to make the article for you, seriously. It will be quicker, easier, and cheaper to write a draft yourself! For now, concentrate on writing an appeal against your block. Once you're unblocked, if you still want to write a draft, I invite you to come to my talk page (click 'talk' next to my name) and show me the sources you want to use for your draft. I will go through them with you and explain which is usable, which is not, and why. I'm not an administrator so I can't do anything for you now, but I will look forward to talking to you later. In the meantime, I wish you and your family all the best. StartGrammarTime (talk) 20:52, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- Please blame ScottishFinnishRadish for this situation. I recently hired one of the Wikipedia experts to create the same page for me, hoping it would get approved by the community. I was making progress on my own, but as soon as I got help, my page was selected for deletion and is now in the process of being deleted. I'm at a loss for what to do next.
- I even wrote a draft myself, thinking the community here would assist me in formatting and adding references properly. However, my page remains blocked, and I’ve been stuck waiting. My content had a neutral tone, focusing solely on accomplishments without any self-promotion, yet that still wasn’t enough.
- What am I supposed to do now? If you can help me then that's great! How can I speak with you in a more quicker/faster way so I can get this page posted onto wikipedia? And Thank you for everything!I will msg you on "Talk" SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 20:59, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
- This may not be what you want to hear but ScottishFinnishRadish is not in any way responsible for this. They are a respected and trusted editor and serve the community very well as an administrator. I know you're probably feeling frustrated and angry, but ScottishFinnishRadish is not your enemy. They were just the first editor to stumble onto what looked like promotion, although I know you didn't intend for it to be promotion. In the circumstances I probably would have done the same! Please understand that ScottishFinnishRadish was doing what they had to do by Wikipedia's policies, and that it is not personal.
- I think what likely happened is that the 'expert' had no idea what they were doing, and just wanted your money. This is unfortunately very common, and why we try so hard to stop people from paying these scammers. Wikipedia has no connection with them whatsoever, and in fact we try as hard as we can to stop them from preying on people. I'm sorry that this happened to you, and I hope you'll let your friends and family know that they shouldn't trust anyone who asks for money to do something on Wikipedia. No one can ever guarantee you that an article will be created, or that it will stay the same as what they've written, or that it won't be deleted. However, the scammers like to look for people working on drafts, or the subject of an article up for deletion, and then message them promising to fix everything for a small payment. It would be great if you could report them as outlined in the WP:SCAM page I linked you to earlier. We might be able to save some other innocent people from the scam.
- As I mentioned above, often it's really hard to write neutrally when you're close to the subject - especially if you are the subject! Start on your unblock appeal first of all, because there's not much either of us can do while you're blocked, and as you know I am not an administrator. I know you probably want everything to be fixed immediately, but one thing to keep in mind about Wikipedia is that there's no deadline, and no rush. Even if we get a workable draft - and I will try my best to help you either make it as good as we can or tell you why we can't proceed - the current wait time for a draft to be reviewed can be as long as four months. Everyone here is a volunteer, none of us get paid, so the draft reviewers are giving up their time to assess drafts just as I am giving my time to you. Patience is difficult, but unavoidable! It's best for us to communicate here or on my talk page, because that way if anyone thinks the draft is too promotional they can come here and see we are actively working on improving it.
- So, in the meantime, here's what I suggest:
- Make an unblock request. Read through what ScottishFinnishRadish, David notMD, and Rotidey have said just after the block notice, and respond in your unblock request explaining what you intend to do differently - obviously you are interested in writing drafts about your family, but you will need to understand and respect the Conflict Of Interest (COI) policy, and hopefully there are some other things you'd be interested in doing while you're here. We don't have a lot of editors who know the pageant world very well, so perhaps you'd like to help out with articles about pageants? Think about what would interest you.
- Place a COI notice on your userpage. You can do that easily by copying and pasting this: {{UserboxCOI|1=Wikipedia article name}} and replacing 'Wikipedia article name' with the name of whoever you want to create a draft for. If you decide you want to create more than one draft, you can put multiple notices by doing just the same thing.
- Now we wait! If you have made a convincing argument in your unblock request, an administrator will come past and unblock you. They might have questions for you; please make sure to answer them, they'll be important if you want to be unblocked. Staying calm and being polite are vitally important too, even if you're frustrated or annoyed. The people talking to you are trying to do what's best for Wikipedia, and trying to follow our policies. Focus on what you have done and are planning to do, not on what anyone else has done (except you could mention that you hired someone to write your draft, since they obviously did not do a good job and you definitely don't want to suggest that was your work!).
- If you're feeling especially invigorated and want to do something immediately, it would be very helpful if you could look for sources for your draft. Read through WP:42; you want to find sources that fit all three criteria, not just one or two. Every source must have all three to show notability. Our goal here is to demonstrate that you (or whoever you wish to write about) is notable by Wikipedia standards; you will find more information about that at WP:NOTABLE. If you are writing about a living person, every single statement has to have a good source - you can't put down anything you've been told, or anything you know. You must try to forget everything you know about this person and only write the facts as reported in the sources you cite. As you can imagine, this can be extremely difficult!
- If you let me know the name of the person you want to write about, I can make a blank draft page for us to work on. However, the most important thing to do is that we need to have some sources before we start work - without a source, we have no information to put in the draft! So once I've made the page, I will show you where to put any sources you have, and then we'll see whether we can get a draft to happen. If you have any questions, please ask them and I'll see if I can answer them. Take care and we'll no doubt talk again soon! StartGrammarTime (talk) 00:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- I'm hesitant to take any further action regarding the unblock request. I believe I've already done everything necessary, as my attempts to continue communicating seemed to trigger the block in the first place. I've directly linked all the sources—there are about 15-20 articles written about me, including interviews and credits from the movies I've worked on. Despite all this, it seems the block hasn't been lifted.
- I'm not sure what else to do to get this resolved. However, I would be happy to share the draft of what I initially posted if that would help. SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 00:24, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- I think the block was lifted off of my profile. SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 00:39, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- That's your choice, of course, but as far as I can tell you haven't actually made an unblock request yet - they show up in a big box like the block notice. If you select 'new section' and then copy this: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
- ...then you can put your unblock request in the bit that says 'your reason here'!
- The thing is that if you're blocked, you can't create drafts. I'm willing to help you, but there's not much I can do about the block. However, if you want, I'll have a look at the draft you already have and tell you whether I think it's worth making the appeal and continuing work or whether you might as well start over.
- Is the bit up near the top of this page with all the bullet points the draft you submitted (or wanted to submit)? Or is it somewhere else? If it's not on this page, but you remember where it was, I can probably track it down via your contributions - we can all see what each other has been doing, which is very helpful for cases like this. Just let me know and I'll come back with some advice! StartGrammarTime (talk) 00:56, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- I don't even know where to make the unblock request? Where do I go to make the unblock request? SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 01:21, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
- Okay, so what you do is basically the same as the way you got all the information below - make a new thread, then put the unblock request there and fill out the bit that asks for a reason.
- Using Google Translate (since I don't speak or read Bangla, all I can do is admire the characters) I'm having a look through your sources at the moment, but the first quick note is that something that only mentions your name is no use to you. The sources should be all about you, or at least mostly about you! They also need to be independent, so if the person who wrote the article has spoken to you or written to you then they can't be used for notability either. Anything you wrote (or said in an interview, or any other kind of communication) is good for basic facts about you, but not notability. What you need most of all is sources that show you are notable by Wikipedia standards.
- If you find any more, please do link them! Remember, this is what you are looking for: significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. Part of the second criteria, reliable sources, requires the source to have editorial oversight (for example, not a blog) and come from a reputable publisher (some places will publish anything if they're paid, so they are not reliable). Go to WP:42 for more information on each of those criteria if you're unsure - and if you're still unsure then, I'll be happy to check those out too! StartGrammarTime (talk) 01:57, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

I spoke too soon. It turns out they didn’t unblock me after all, and I’m not sure what steps to take to resolve this. But I want to make this clear so that ScottishFinnishRadish, David notMD, and Rotidey can see:
The 7th reference on this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiam_Amani_Hafizuddin Wikipedia page was an article from the MALA National website titled “Nazida Syed: Starting Over, Fighting for Change” (https://malanational.org/nazida-syed-starting-over-fighting-for-change/), which starts with my name, Nazida Syed. This article is directly about me.
She’s the person who awarded me my titles of Miss Bangladesh New York 2015 and Miss Bangladesh United Continent 2015. Additionally, my name in Bangla is নাজিদা সৈয়দ. If you search for that on Google, you’ll find numerous links discussing me and the movie I did called "Greencard."
I also want to include information about myself and my family on Wikipedia, specifically from the book titled *Sipahsalar Syed Nasiruddin (RAH) - Sylhet and Taraf Kingdom Conquest (1303)* by Dr. S. M. Ilyas, published by Ramon Publishers in Dhaka, November 2022, 6th Edition, Chapter 7, Section 84 - Amlitola, Netrokona, Pages 1133-1145. This section contains detailed information about my entire bloodline. My father is Syed Abu Saleh Salem Sajjad, and my paternal grandfather is Syed Abu Sadeq. Everyone listed under Syed Abu Sadeq in the family tree are his sons, and those above are his forefathers.
I would appreciate it if you could remove the Bangla text from the pictures I've provided and translate them as well. There is a page that isn’t in sequence, so please place the information about Syed Abu Saleh Salem under his picture and the details about Syed Abu Sadeq under his own.
Here are a few articles that mention my name:

Request reason:
Dear Wikipedia Administrators, I hope this message finds you well. I would like to kindly request that my Wikipedia account be unblocked. I understand that certain actions may have led to this block, and I want to take full responsibility for any mistakes made. In my effort to create a Wikipedia page, I hired someone to write a draft for me. Unfortunately, the draft did not meet Wikipedia's standards, and I realize now that this approach was not in line with Wikipedia’s policies. I want to clarify that the content they produced does not reflect the quality of work I would like to contribute to the platform, and I do not want to suggest that it was my own work. Moving forward, I am committed to thoroughly understanding Wikipedia’s guidelines and ensuring that all my contributions adhere to the highest standards. My goal is to create content that is both valuable and compliant with Wikipedia's policies, and I am eager to learn and improve. I appreciate the time and effort you put into maintaining the integrity of Wikipedia, and I sincerely hope that you will consider unblocking my account so that I can contribute positively to the community. Thank you for your understanding, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. Sincerely, Nazida Syed SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 02:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)

Request reason:
This is a plea to the administrators on Wikipedia.
Namaste to all of you. I would like to humbly request to unblock my Wikipedia account. I know, I might have done something which caused this block but I would like to take the responsibility for that. In my attempt to create a Wikipedia page for myself I have hired someone to compile a draft. But I guess the draft was not perfect per their guidelines and I see that now. This is not the kind of work I would want to post if I am creating a Wikipedia page. More-over I don’t want to mislead people that this draft was actually mine. Now, can you please unblock my account so that I can learn these guidelines and contribute such work to this community which is value added and per your policy compliance. Nothing else. Thank you so much for your time and efforts in keeping Wikipedia guidelines in tact. Looking forward to show my work and contribution. If you have any question, I will be happy to answer it. Namaste.RegardsNazida Syed SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 02:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)
Decline reason:
You should use your time being blocked to learn Wikipedia's guidelines and policies. In particular, you should read WP:COI, and understand that we don't get to write about ourselves. PhilKnight (talk) 17:12, 8 September 2024 (UTC)

jpgordon, GPTZero may have given a false positive in this case - 'Nothing else' as a full sentence and 'keeping Wikipedia guidelines in tact' and 'if you have any question' are not things LLM spit out. There are other small errors which a human would make but a LLM would not - I'm not saying this to insult the editor in any way, we all make errors! I believe the text is this editor's authentic writing; it matches well with their other responses when I have communicated with them (thread above if you want to compare).
Would you please consider again, on the assumption this was written by a person? StartGrammarTime (talk) 04:23, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- What happened here is that the editor modified the unblock request after I declined it, changing it from GPTZero score of 100% to 3%. The next admin to come along will consider this unblock request now that I've cleaned it up. --jpgordon𝄢𝄆𝄐𝄇 04:43, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Jpgordon - thank you, I understand, and I apologise for the false-false-positive and bringing you back for no reason. I didn't think to check if it had been modified. StartGrammarTime (talk) 10:57, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- You will need to tell us a new username that we can rename this account to, the name of this account cannot be that of any group(such as a family) and it must indicate that a specific individual exclusively operates this account. Your real name is not required. In fact, have you been the only operator of this account, or did the person you hired operate it as well? 331dot (talk) 08:48, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- I've always been the sole operator of this account, but the content I posted earlier, when my "page" was deleted and then blocked, was actually a copy-paste of something written by someone I hired. The real issue is that I didn't even get a chance to correct any mistakes before the page was taken down. What do you suggest I change my username to? Nazida Syed, perhaps? SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 13:03, 16 August 2024 (UTC)
- (i) Yes, "Nazida Syed" would be a good username. Most usernames, however, are not, and don't resemble, the actual names of the people using them. ("StartGrammarTime", "331dot" and "Hoary" belong to this majority.) (ii) A good rule of thumb is that anyone offering to create a Wikipedia article for payment is not competent to do so. -- Hoary (talk) 21:45, 17 August 2024 (UTC)
- Ok So may be change my name here to StrawberryKisses SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 16:33, 18 August 2024 (UTC)
- That name is already in use. It could probably be usurped(reassigned to you) but that can't be done via this process; please propose something else that you are willing to use at least for now. 331dot (talk) 09:44, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
- ok how about this: NazidaSyedOfficial SyedFamilyBangladesh (talk) 22:38, 19 August 2024 (UTC)
