Sydney FC - Patrick
Hi,
I notice you added Patrick back to the list of Notable Former Players on the Sydney FC article. Discussion on the talk page agreed that Patrick was not a former notable player - with no extensive contribution to the long term efforts of the team, not having played for any "major" clubs previously, and no international appearances for his country.
I'm going to remove him from the section as per the discussion on the talk page, if you think he should be included, can you please indicate your reasons on the article talk page and we can try to resolve it from there? Camw (talk) 06:33, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
- I don't know that there are any standard rules, for example the EPL teams include players that have played more than 100 games for their club, as I assume listing internationally capped players would end up as a massive list. Being such a young league I guess we have more relaxed rules, but only 9 appearances for the club without significant notability outside of his time with Sydney is probably much too far on the low side for inclusion. I did see the good work you did updating the article, sorry for focusing on the negative and thanks for the other work. Camw (talk) 08:12, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
I've just reverted your recent changes to this article as they involved removing large quantities of cited material without any explanation. Nick-D (talk) 04:32, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Vote for Football as the Australian collaboration
Hi -- I recently nominated Wikipedia:WikiProject Football (soccer) in Australia/To-do for the Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight.
This WikiProject has been inactive for a long time and with the World Cup coming up, it would be good for football (soccer) articles to be in depth and comprehensive in Australia.
If you would like to support it, click here for the project page to cast your vote
Thanks! Australian Matt (talk) 02:55, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
Successful ACOTF Selection
Hi -- Wikipedia:WikiProject Football (soccer) in Australia/To-do has successfully been voted in as Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight. Thanks very much for your support and I look forward to the work we can do improving Football articles in Australia over the next 2 weeks.

Central Coast Lightning External Link
Hey Nath, first off, good job on the article. Was there a reason though behind the link to Manly United? I was going to remove it but wasn't sure if it was intentional or a mistake. Camw (talk)
Orphaned non-free image (File:Vitezslav.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Vitezslav.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Camw (talk) 04:23, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
Kerim Bulut
Thanks for adding Bulut to the squad list. Did you see him play in the NYL last year? Very promising player, although it seems like a slightly strange signing considering the other options we have up front and with a limited number of signings/cap left. Camw (talk) 08:24, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- I haven't had a good look for sources, but I'd lean toward him not being notable enough for his own article yet. Without having played a game in a professional league yet he fails WP:Athlete and so he would have to meet WP:Notability which requires "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject". If you go for it you'll have to load it with sources and even then there is no guarantee. It's the kind of article it might be worth creating in your userspace if you have time and then moving it across if/when he has played a competitive game for the senior team.
- I saw Latronico play in the trial again APIA last week and he was pretty mediocre but I think he is playing tomorrow night again so will hopefully see if he can step it up. Vaughan and Rizzo also played last week and Vaughan looked pretty good at RB (against a team playing badly though) and Rizzo was decent, although inconsistent. I feel like we need an experienced CB to be one of the two or three remaining signings (is it 24 or 25 maximum for the squad size?) - Colosimo can probably do the job and hopefully guide a youngster but all it would take is an injury and we'd be looking at something terrifying like a Prentice/Golec or Golec/Jurman pairing. Camw (talk) 09:21, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah sorry you are right, I think it is 21 signings currently with 23 maximum. Camw (talk) 09:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
Not sure if you are interested but I talked to Kerim at the training session on Thursday and he said he hasn't signed yet and that the media report was wrong. The player saying something to me obviously doesn't count as a reliable source so he should stay in the squad on the page, but just thought I'd let you know in case you are interested! Photos
Hey Nath,
Thanks for the thanks! I don't work for Sydney FC or the media, I just have a fairly flexible job so I've gone down to watch the team train at Macquarie Uni a couple of mornings and taken the camera along. I don't know if I'll be getting shots from the games this season as there was a bit of a dispute with the Sydney Football Stadium security at the last game vs Newcastle last season, but hopefully it will get sorted out! File copyright problem with File:Stephan Keller.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Stephan Keller.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NW (Talk) 14:11, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Stephan Keller
Hi Nath - I'm sorry but I put in an image I took of Stephan at the trial game on the weekend. Sorry to replace yours so soon after you uploaded it - I've moved it to the main body of the article, but the licensing problem described above needs to be fixed up for it to remain. I think you can add something like the code below and it should be enough for the image to stay. Sorry about the weird formatting, but you should still be able to copy and paste.

- I see NuclearWarfare moved the file over to Wikimedia Commons so I deleted it from here, and added it back into the article linked to the Commons version - hope this is alright! Camw (talk) 02:58, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
- No problem! You going to the fan day this Sunday? Camw (talk) 13:12, 29 July 2009 (UTC)
Notability & Refs
G'day, I placed the tags on the Howard Fondyke article in the hope that it would prompt you or others to supply the two neccessary things to make the article safe from the deletionists, especially the WP:ATHLETE devotees. Without either proof that he's played at a fully professional level, or that he has sufficient references to be notable without playing professionally, he is a target for deletion. I've been through it (and am probably about to go through it again) with AFL draftees many times - just being on a professional team list isn't enough, but find some stories about him (not just a listing or an internal team newsletter or similar) and you should have no problems. But you can't just delete the tags without doing anything. Cheers,The-Pope (talk) 14:02, 25 November 2009 (UTC)
8 December 2009 Baghdad bombings, response sections.
Hi Nath, I'm not really very good at writing articles on current events, but I always thought that the response was just clumped together under one section. If this is wrong, shall I move all the stuff under "Response" into "International reaction", formatting it the same way as you have formatted the response from Jordan? Kind regards, SpitfireTally-ho! 14:07, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Okay, will do, shall I put a flag by each one? Thanks, SpitfireTally-ho! 14:16, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
Image copyright
It looks like you forgot to add a copyright tag to File:Pacific Jewel.JPG that you uploaded recently. Cheers ww2censor (talk) 06:18, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of File:Pacific Jewell.JPG
A tag has been placed on File:Pacific Jewell.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ww2censor (talk) 15:53, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
