Lead paragraphs (KMEX-DT)

There were two reasons why we modified the lead paragraph of KMEX-DT.

• Feedback received during GAN: I received feedback from Lee Vilenski during GA review (Talk:KMEX-DT/GA1) that the lead had a WP:SEAOFBLUE issue. SEAOFBLUE occurs when there are two or three links back to back, e.g. "Spanish-language television station licensed to Los Angeles". It is discouraged by the Manual of Style.

• Reducing jargon: These leads can be tough reading for people unfamiliar with the topic. (He notes he further revised the lead after my tweaks.) At GAN, sometimes the nominators of pages are people not as intimately familiar with American TV. That's good! The whole point of my style of writing is to reduce the heavy, jargon-filled, dense prose long associated with TVS pages. One should not need to be an industry wonk to read our contributions to the encyclopedia.

The reason I didn't touch that part of the lead was, sadly, because I knew from past experience that you were going to come in and undo any changes I would make. I should not have to think like that. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:38, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

WBSF is now broadcasting in ATSC 3.0

Yesterday, WBSF began broadcasting in ATSC 3.0. As a result, the channel 25.2 designation is now 46.1 and the Charge! channel is now on WSMH on channel 46.3. There is no more 25.2 designation for WEYI. Steelbeard1 (talk) 16:04, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

@Steelbeard1: Look at KJZZ-TV#Technical information as the model page for how to represent all this. It can get complicated, but once we have a nice and neat list of the services WBSF is broadcasting in 3.0, there should be two tables. Sammi Brie (she/her • t • c) 16:40, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

The WBSF situation is simpler regarding moving its 1.0 channels as only the Charge! TV channel had to be moved. WBSF was already simulcasted by WEYI on channel 25.2. So that was simply changed to 46.1 at WEYI's end. Co-operated WSMH was the station that picked up the Charge! channel on physical channel 18.4 and the display channel of 46.3.
