This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

About Template:TooLong
[edit]A little note regarding the use of Template:Very long: the template is typically used in articles with far more extensive information than the ones which you have tagged with the template. The summary style guide acknowledges that topical information should meet the different needs of different readers: specificially, it says, "Many readers need just a quick summary of the topic's most important points (lead section); Others need a moderate amount of information on the topic's more important points (a set of multiparagraph sections); Some readers need a lot of details on one or more aspects of the topic (links to full-sized separate subarticles). An example of an article where child subarticles were necessary and usage of the template was most appropriate was the 1994 United States broadcast TV realignment, which had gotten to about 2 1/4 times the length of the articles you tagged with the template. As such, I had to split certain sections regarding additional affiliation transactions and effects on programming related to the affiliation realignment into a child article.
If the tagging is based on the article byte size alone, that basis may not be sufficient enough to require it; it preferably should factor both the article's overall text length (this [2015 edit] of the article I mentioned could be used as a reasonable baseline) and the byte size. Articles about television stations can have enough detail necessary that a "very long" template is not really needed, since they rarely get too long to require child articles, and very few have necessitated one be created. I recommend reading the WikiProject Television Stations section on article structure for basis on what must be included. TVTonightOKC 15:15, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
Recent WMGM Edit
[edit]How come you removed the address for the offices of WMGM? The FCC database see here still lists their main studio address as 1601 New Road in Linwood. I am going to revert it unless you can prove a reference that shows that this is no longer their address. Thanks. YborCityJohn (talk) 00:52, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- As far as I know, they could be operating from WUVP's studios. Mvcg66b3r (talk) 00:57, 5 December 2017 (UTC)
- Well for now can we just assume based on the FCC filings that they are still in Linwood. Maybe it would be wise for all of us to do some monitoring of WMGM's filings with the FCC website since it is getting to the end of the year and if there are any changes make them accordingly here on Wikipedia. About your edits on KLUZ & KTFQ
[edit]I live in a market affected by the Univision-UniMas swap, and I can confirm that those stations just swapped call letters and affiliations with each other. The stations affected in my DMA are WVEA-TV (call letters & affiliation moved to channel 50) and WFTT-DT (moved to channel 62). Can you please put back KLUZ-TV to the way it was, but put digital channel 42 and virtual channel 41 as it's former channel numbers and vice versa with KTFQ-DT?
Personally, I think this swap that Entravision did was very complicated in technical FCC terms as there wasn't anyone else that covered this other than Entravision themselves.
I would rather format it from the perspective of what happened in 1995 with WFOR and WTVJ when they switched. If that switch happened today, you probably would have moved the pages all around, having WTVJ's info on WFOR's page and vice versa. Jonathan7157 (talk) 01:57, 6 December 2017 (UTC)
Diacritics
[edit]Please be aware that attempting to remove diacritics from articles and their titles, when reliable sources indicate that the diacritics belong there, is widely regarded as disruptive and isn't going to produce a happy outcome. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ >ʌⱷ҅ᴥⱷʌ< 11:32, 8 December 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for December 18
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited KALB-TV, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page KATC (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A tag has been placed on Category:Companies of the United States disestablished in 2000 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —swpbT go beyond 18:12, 26 December 2017 (UTC)

WXBU
[edit]Hi, I reverted your changes at WXBU - not as vandalism per pending changes, but as an editor. I looked at the citation and it has multiple sections and subsections - if you are going to change the infobox based on this citation please note where in the cited legal agreement this information can be found.
