Marco of Alexandria
[edit]Hello. The Marco of Alexandria page you created says the subject died in 1933, but the external link http://www.alexmarco.com/ seems to indicate he is still alive. Can you explain this apparent difference? Wondering, -- Infrogmation 20:06, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Sorry for the confusion from my part I removed the content after few seconds, as it was meant for another page and I pasted it by mistake.(Mo Nadi 16:34, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC))
- In Fact Marco of Alexandria died in a Train Accident in Belgium Last July.
Musician Stubs
[edit]Hi Mnadi — I'm afraid you can't just create 20 articles containing nothing more than the {{stub}} tab — there has to be some content, however minimal. I'm currently putting {{del}} tags on them, but that's not because I don't think that the articles should exist. Rather, they need to have content to exist. If you plan on putting content on them, then do so. Articles without content, though, are ano good for anyone.
Thanks! — Asbestos | Talk 22:34, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Agree. It is considered bad form to start articles unless you have an absolute minimum of one full sentence explaining who the person is. Less than that may get deleted, or at least are considered a problem. Please take time looking at the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and related links. Hope this helps, -- Infrogmation 00:31, 14 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the hint, I can see your point. Yes I am working on updating these page as my time allows, after all we are all busy professionals with other life obligations. My intention was to allow others to know these new pages are there so they can start editing them too. (Mo Nadi 16:26, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC))
Hi! Your articles should also be longer than "Born 1931." :^) That's a speedy deletion candidate for sure. - Lucky 6.9 19:20, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I've already added much more information during the past days, so no need for speedy assumptions :-) (Mo Nadi 21:53, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC))

[edit]We had a problem with the Islam article -- the links section was growing like cancer, as dozens of Islamic websites were linking themselves. Image Tagging Image:Bill-Morrow.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Bill-Morrow.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. - CrazyRussian talk/contribs/email 03:46, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for noticing that, the image was taken from a Vodafone media and marketing kit. I've fixed the tags. Mo Nadi 22:51, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

Image:Sir-Julian-Horn-Smith.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Sir-Julian-Horn-Smith.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
- On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Chowbok ☠ 00:40, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Arun-Sarin.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Arun-Sarin.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 22:00, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Sherihan, by Barsportsunlimited, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Sherihan seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Sherihan, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Sherihan itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:04, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lord-MacLaurin.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Lord-MacLaurin.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 17:01, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Treelo, I appreciate your help but I am the owner of the Philips sites in UK, Ireland and South Africa and we do have lots of requests for such a UK map which I belive will add value to the wikipedia users who would like to find our company physically! I appreciate your trying to help and your personal opinion that it is unconstructive, but I see no point of removing it promptly everytime we try to do some edits to this public page !
Could you please explain your reactions on the Philips page?
Replaceable fair use Image:Paul-Donovan.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Paul-Donovan.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

[edit]Greetings Mr Mnadi,
Nice to meet you.
Could you kindly help me translate this article into the Romanized Egyptian Arabic language? Please.
Your help would be very Gratefully Appreciated, Thankyou very much. --Philip J (talk) 22:41, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of SafeToNet Foundation
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on SafeToNet Foundation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Aspening (talk) 22:02, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
