Herson Capri

Hi. When you translate pages, like you did from Portuguese with Herson Capri, you need to acknowledge the source for your article, preferably both in the edit summary of the creation of the translation, and at the talk page of the article, using Template:Translated page.

You also need to turn the machine translation into basic English text, things like "He received the Barão do Serro Azul commendatory abbot" are funny but not meaningful. Something like "He was nominated for the Barão do Serro Azul award" is probably what was meant instead.

Further: all biographies of living persons must have sources, or else they will get deleted (usually after seven days), no matter how notable the subject is.

Finally: if you no longer actively work on an article, remember to remove the "underconstruction" tag. A bot will otherwise do it after 7 days, but it is confusing and even annoying for other users when they encounter the tag. Fram (talk) 14:00, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Chapter 30

Very nice. It seems to fit the writing style of the romance novel though a narrative from the male POV seems unusual. Are you really sure you want to delve deeply into the male mind? It can be an ugly place, you know. I am joking a bit. I thought "icy rut" was a nice turn of phrase. There were a couple of slightly awkward phrasings, but I had no problem understanding any of what you wrote. I need to drive now, but will add more later. I took lots of photos at Stanford yesterday. It is the first time that I have wandered around there without having a specific place to go. It is really a beautiful and impressive place. Re: One Tree Hill for TFA

I wouldn't nominate One Tree Hill (song) for TFA at this time. I don't know if you've reviewed the criteria at WP:TFAR, but when nominating articles, they need to have a certain amount of points. This article would only earn 1 point (for having been at FA status for 1-2 years). Additionally, U2 3D was already TFA in January, so I doubt the editors would be ok having two U2 articles as TFAs in one year. I'd wait until at least next March when the article could get 3 points (2 for being at FA status for over two years, plus 1 for being the month of its release). –Dream out loud (talk) 03:28, 12 July 2013 (UTC)

Well, the agreeing not to meet part still works, you just have to think of some other arrangement (car accident) that brings them together, or make the new girlfriend a real good lawyer whom the ex has to hire to win a case. You can do this yourself. Think about it today and again just before you go to bed and you wil have an idea in the morning. You should also see if you can get a copy of the book "The Fountainhead". I found stranger in a strange land and I started to read it in Spanish. I thought about a car accident (I asked a question about that at the reference desk- the one about a Dublin Hospital) when the rockstar and the ex were having an argument about meeting the kids... the new girl (who is pregnant by that time -another question I made at the ref) flies to where they had the accident. The problem is, I don't know all the back-story about these women, and you do. I would still have there be some other necessity to the women meeting. Perhaps the man doesn't even tell the new girlfriend there is an accident, but the ex looks for the best neck surgeon there is, and hires her to fly in from the US, and it turns out to be the new girlfriend. I recommend you finish Stranger before considering Fountainhead. The author of Fountainhead was not published in Russia until 1991, so you may find her books hard to obtain. Jaja, intentaba explicarte por que todavia hay la controversia sobre mi genero; no queria implicar que no me tutearas! Hace unos años habia gran coflagracion aqui en WP sobre este tema, y desde entonces hay unos usuarios que hacen un gran cosa al respecto. No importa, soy nadie. Sobre aviones, depende del viento. Dura 8 horas entre New York y Frankfurt en promedio. Pero cuando fui a Frankfurt hace 25 cinco años cruzamos en 6 horas porque teniamos el jet stream empujandonos de atras. Hey, J^im. i think Justaguy had to go for a while. Regarding the friends issue. I don't know what to think. I try to be friendly with everybody, even with that user that change Bono's picture in the infobox every time I find a good one... I like I Jethrobot a lot, he is nice, cute, and always when I need a helping hand. You are my mentor, and I consider you my friend. Have you heard that line in Beautiful Day?: You thought you'd found a friend/To take you out of this place/Someone you could lend a hand/In return for grace, it is one of my favourite lines there. I think I have found what I was looking for, plenty of friends who help me and I help when I have the answer, but now... I am confused, shouldn't I make friends here? Friendship

Friendly interaction among editors is wonderful thing, and you and I have an especially close relationship, Miss Bono. You can count on me. There is no "mess" but rather a wish on the part of many experienced editors to keep the social interactions centered around writing and expanding encyclopedia articles, and improving the functioning of the encyclopedia. That is, after all, the shared goal that brings us all together. I know that you are working on new articles all the time, Miss Bono. You are a productive editor. But occasionally, someone new comes along, often young and immature, all eager to make new friends, but rarely improving the encyclopedia. Sometimes these users become disruptive and a big time sink for others. Some even start sockpuppeting and vandalizing. So, a certain degree of caution is always appropriate. Yeah, after OMS' incident I don't like to trust anyone new to Wikipedia. When I ask for some help I first dig into the contribs, awards and profiles of the user I will ask for help. That's what I did when I first ask you for mentorship. I am not an expert editor, but I am not a probie either, I try to help the new ones whenever I have the answer (I must confess that sometimes I get lost in chit chats, but that's part of my personality) I cannot be sitting for hours editing Wikipedia without having a conversation that takes the stress out of me. Also, I think I have a big COI-itis, because I am always working on article related to U2... and that worries me. I found one source in an Irish celebrity magazine called RSVP. I don't know how reliable it is. The story is called U2′s Adam Clayton to Marry During the Summer. It is dated May 23, 2013, identifies the woman as Brazilian model Mariana Teixeira, and says they have a four year old son together. WikiCup 2013 July newsletter

We're halfway through this year's penultimate round, and the competition is moving along well. Pool A's Sasata (submissions) currently leads overall, while Pool B's Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) is second. Both leaders are WikiCup veterans, and both have already scored over 600 points this month. If the round were to end today, Miyagawa (submissions), with 274 points, would be the lowest-scoring participant to make it through. This indicates that participants will need a score comparable to last year's (573, the highest ever) to qualify for the final. The high scores this year are a testament both to the quality of participants and to the increased focus on significant content (eligible for bonus points) in this year's competition. So far this round, both Sasata and Cwmhiraeth (submissions) have made up over half of their score through bonus points, with, for example, high importance FA koala earning Sasata a total of 440 points (from a multiplier of 4.4) and high-importance GA sea earning Cwmhiraeth a total of 216 points (from a multiplier of 7.2). Other articles on important topics submitted this round include a featured article on the Norman conquest of England by Ealdgyth (submissions), and good articles on Nobel laureate in literature Henryk Sienkiewicz, Nobel laureate in physics Hans Bethe, and the noted Japanese aircraft carrier Hiryū. These articles are by Piotrus (submissions), Hawkeye7 (submissions) and Sturmvogel_66 respectively.

HOSPITAL

Yes, it is the first time I checked out AMA, but, the credit card is maxed out for medication, lots of issues... we don't have socialized medicine here, sis! Lots of people actually just ride over the border to Mexico- especially elderly people, and that is how they can afford to live.. also that particular hospital, this time was horrible. Mandela

Hi Miss Bono,

I heard Nelson Mandela speak at the Oakland Coliseum on July 1, 1990. It was the final stop of a tour of 8 US cities. I am not surprised that he visited Cuba in those years. By the way, U2 has played at the same venue several time.

Linking other users' usernames

Hi, Miss Bono.

You know, you shouldn't really link other editors' names using their own non-default signature format. At first glance it looks as if they, not you, are posting. It's the online equivalent of copying someone else's handwriting, which is normally only done by forgers. When I addressed you above, it wasn't Miss Bono, but just Miss Bono. Simple.

I'll get fat with your virtual sweets! ¿Hablas espanol? I live in the Washington, D.C. area, but part of my family are Brazilian, but few people here speak Portuguese. More speak Spanish but not Cuban Spanish- mostly centroamericanos, comprendes? When I say you are a crazy nut, I don't mean insane, I mean you have the energy to accept a difficult job, and do it right, but with your own flavor. I believe you can reach Wikimedia Commons. Photos that are uploaded correctly and placed here on the Wikipedias can be found this way: you click on the photo in the page, and find yourself on an intermediate Wikipedia page with a little mark in the top right of the page. Click on that, and you will be in Commons right where the photo was uploaded. Give that a try. Until you have better internet access, though, I think you should put your energy on many of the U2 pages, where you found that photo. Since there is a U2 WikiProject, I think you can learn more working on some smaller U2 articles- songs, or albums, those things, and the people who worked with U2 also. It is that practice and dedication that will give you new skills in editing, new sources you don't know of yet, and you can meet more people who would be willing to join you in all those articles. Bono will take a lot of editors with years of experience to reach GA and FA status, just because he has worked with so many different musicians, has worked in charities, has changed musical style over the years, and more. It's frustrating sometimes. But it is the best way to learn and improve as an editor. Think about it! Moxy and many other editors can help you better than I can, because I am an older editor and I do not know much about work with computers.
