Disruptive Editing at Road signs in Malaysia

[edit]

Hi, recently there is a bunch of unregistered IP accounts that made changes to Road Signs in Malaysia. For example, look at a recent reverted edit: Recent Diff. These accounts seem to replace newer format signs to older format signs, changing new svg files back to old png files and removing the descriptions of each sign.

After geolocating all these IP accounts, they seem to be from Indonesia from the same ISP. Here are the IPs that made disruptive edits to the article (so far): 114.122.164.68
114.122.167.108
114.122.165.81
114.122.169.242
114.122.167.25

Its gotten to the point where they made edits everyday just to be reverted by another user. I hope something can be done.

Thanks ItsTomato (talk) 10:23, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

After the protection time was over, the IP users continue to do disruptive editing on Road signs in Malaysia, still with a different IP from the same ISP. I don't think they will even consider discussing at the talk page since all of these edits were mobile edits.
I hope something can be done. Maybe block these IP users from editing Wikipedia unless logged in, but they probably will just come back with more different IPs. ItsTomato (talk) 12:08, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Epic Aircraft COI edit requests

[edit]

Hi! I noticed you were recently doing some work on the Aircraft section of Epic Aircraft. I have some COI edit requests currently open for that article, including an overhaul of the Aircraft section to make it more accurate and add citations. Would love your feedback if you have a moment. Thank you! Mary Gaulke (talk) 16:27, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Write up of commencement of International flights from an Airport

[edit]

Hi Mil. Are write ups of commencement of specific International flights from an airport notable? Please take a look at [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kempegowda_International_Airport#Renaming_and_expansion_(2009%E2%80%93present) this. A write up on Ethiopian, United, Air India'a commencement from Bangalore. I don't think these are notable. Would like to know your opinion.  LeoFrank  Talk 03:15, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editing at Fortaleza Airport

[edit]

Dear Milbourne One, once again I come to ask for your help and place a protection on the article Fortaleza Airport. Someone using only an IP number has been writing comments on the page, stating his/her own opinion against given references. The question pertains the operation of a charter airline from Warsaw. This person is well-known: for years he/she has used several names in the past and lately only uses IPs. It seems to be the same person because one can trace the edits to an IP located in Hamburg, Germany. Thanks so much, Brunoptsem (talk) 15:45, 23 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Claim for mandatory "independent" sources

[edit]

Hello MilborneOne, I noticed that a bunch of users is tagging an abundance of sourced content in airport and destination lists (or removing recent additions alltogether), stating that "independent" sources are mandatory and referencing the official airline or airport schedule is not valid. To my understanding this clearly contradicts our current policy regarding this kind of sources which was fine for ages. Additionally, there have been added hundreds of invisible remarks to airport articles that independent sources must be used without having concensus to to so - this highly discourages editors to change or add any destinations, even if they can state an official source. Would you please have a look at this, e. g. edits like this (of which there are dozens the least). Best regards! 2001:A61:3A6B:4B01:6D00:A7F9:C35F:54CE (talk) 12:49, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The given example is a source request on an unsourced addition. IP is also removing maintenance templates like here. As far as I know, you can request better sources. And a request does not make it mandatory. The Banner talk 12:56, 23 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

troubling editor

[edit]

Sorry to bother you, but there's a situation brewing on the Ukrainian Air Force page - which I'm trying to tame but, one editor is having none of it. reverted this source? - reverted Nigel Ish source note(s) - and is contesting this consensus / discussions have been going in circles. input would be appreciated - cheers FOX 52 talk! 03:41, 20 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Really confusing but clearly some of the changes are wrong, there was a discussion about images in the current aircraft tables a while ago that said we should not do it. I will have a look later when I have time. MilborneOne (talk) 12:55, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive editor

[edit]

Would you mind taking a look at Mifiin's behavior in this discussion? They have been disruptively uncivil throughout the discussion and seems to be POV pushing and WP:CHERRYPICKING. - ZLEA T\C 04:28, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) I've been watching the discussion, and they're definitely being disruptive. I haven't commented there yet, as I've been busy offline tonight. ZLEA, you should probably drop a note at WTAIR if you haven't already to get some more eyes on the discussion. BilCat (talk) 05:26, 5 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

More classic airliner photos

[edit]

Hi Milborne One

I just checked through your aircraft photos, and they're fantastic.

Being a huge classic aircraft fan, can you tell me if you will upload more classic aircraft photos, especially airline photos, in future?

Fairchild 21 page

[edit]

Hello, there seems to be some mis-info on the difference between the Fairchild 21, and the Fairchild KR-21 which are two completely different aircraft. Is there a way to properly edit, or even create a separate KR-21 (A/B) page? My family owns both a KR-21A and KR-21B. The Fairchild 21 aircraft was a neat, but obscure aircraft. The KR-21A & B were popular sport planes of the early 30’s and more exist than the wiki page leads readers to believe. Thanks! 8KCAB (talk) 04:31, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please remove semi-protection of Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey

[edit]

After more than ten years, isn't it time to trust IP users again?

And at this time, it is a hard test, because there is actual an Osprey crash, so if the next days no major vandalism occurs, it's safe.

Thank you in advance, 87.150.127.12 (talk) 15:30, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't unprotect the article. It's not worth the hassle. BilCat (talk) 23:25, 27 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Bilcat: Don't prejudice. There is a lot of information in need to be updated, significant work to do.
And all i want is a test after 10 years: Bilcat and others: We all have removed vandalism before. So 1 or 2 more are not significant to me. For you, Bilcat?
Thanks, 87.150.127.12 (talk) 14:39, 30 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You have options, including using talk page edit requests, and/or using a registered account, to make changes. As to vandalism, some articles are perennial targets, that one included. Unprotecting it right after a crash is a bad idea, in my opinion. Wait a few months for the story to die down, and then request unprotection at WP:RFPU. BilCat (talk) 02:08, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So, what is about removing semi-protection after over 10 years now? 87.150.112.181 (talk) 09:07, 15 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
