When you decide to list an article for deletion, and it clearly falls within a WikiProject (WP:NASCAR or at least WP:MOTOR in this case), I highly recommend that you notify that WikiProject. I would have been able to come up with plenty of reliable sources if I would have found the deletion. Had that article been deleted, I would have to go through the deletion review and I would have recreated it with a well-sourced article. It's bureaucracy for no reason. I wasn't given a chance... I'll do something about it now, which was really your goal, right? Royalbroil 12:05, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for your suggestion. I probably won't act on it, since it's neither practical nor required. Whatever project(s) that have "claimed" an article area already well-aware of the article, including its quality assessment. This article has been in the NACSAR project since November of 2005 (almost three and a half years), and rated "stub" class within the that project since July of 2006 (more than two and a half years). The project is well-aware of the article and its quality. If it's not, it's not a problem that someone filing an AfD should really be expected to solve.
- The article had more than enough chance over the last three years, and was given more than a fair chance after it was re-listed at AfD.
- The article rescue squadron pounces on many AfD articles, so maybe you should subscribe to their list page.
- In the end, even if the article had been deleted, it's easily reversible through the review process given bona-fide reasons to keep it. -- Mikeblas (talk) 15:09, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
