Your enthusiasm is appreciated, but this answer to a help desk question is not really helpful. You are suggesting is a WP:REVDEL but I doubt you are really familiar with what, since you suggest to request it on an admin's noticeboard. Also, when you have to write I don’t know if it’s allowed, but I think it is, it is generally a good indicator that you should not have made the suggestion in the first place.

I would suggest, if you want to continue answering questions on the Help Desk/Teahouse, to strive to wikilink each part of your answers so that (1) people you respond to can read the full guidelines if they want and (2) you can check beforehand what you are about to say. Readding WP:SELFREDIRECT links

John Pierce (musician) is a redirect to Pablo Cruise. As WP:SELFRED clearly states "avoid linking to titles that link straight back to the page on which the link is found". If you look at the page history of John Pierce (musician), you can see that it was redirected to Pablo Cruise due to the lack of independent notability. I'm not trying to disrupt Wikipedia in any way, but I honestly would like to know why we should keep the status quo on the Pablo Cruise article. I don't want to start a WP:WAR. Hi IP user! I did these reversions due to being considered WP:Original research. hi! yes, I did update the page Dayana Yastremska, however I didn't update Jeļena Ostapenko. unfortunately, using your own memories as a source isn't acceptable for wikipedia, and proof in the form of WP:Reliable sources, ones published in a notable or published source. if you can dig up news sources that show that yes, you indeed were the one who coached yastremska, we would likely accept it (although you still have to note WP:Conflict of interest if you indeed are davee). if not, then sadly we are unable to add it to the wiki as it is unable to prove through published sources that you coached yastremska. thanks! •Melecie!• ~talk~ 14:13, 1 May 2021 (UTC)

hi @Anonymous1141:! editing your own profile in wikipedia is strongly discouraged due to a wp:conflict of interest. as clear looking glass mentioned in your talk page, using sources by active journalists is much better in wikipedia than using yourself as a source, asking me or anyone to zoom to confirm you is still not possible as a source (even if I do accept). if you indeed have had your nationality switched to british you'd likely have been interviewed by a couple journalists regarding it and it must've been published to a site or paper already, feel free to discuss it with us once you've gotten one (but again due to conflict of interest, it's much better to drop it in the talk page than edit the page directly). •Melecie!• ~talk~ 23:39, 2 May 2021 (UTC)

This is all very triggering. It’s like having to fight all the battles all over again in order to belong. It’s very disheartening that a person is discouraged from saying the truth about her own life. Every time I try to correct it, you revert it back to telling me what you think I am. I don’t want to talk about it the “talk page”. I just want it to be correct as people use Wiki and it affects many areas of my life. But nobody said the internet was a fair place. hi @Anonymous1141:! un/fortunately, we here try to keep wikipedia as fair as possible by treating everyone to the same set of rules and not enforcing article ownership of any kind. I think that ideally, wikipedia would be able to accept primary sources from notable people to be a better and more accurate source of information, but unfortunately in the real world this opens the door for possible impostor accounts to insert false information under the name of the original account. while you may not be an impostor, we have to keep the rules fair for everyone, to prevent impostor accounts and other disruptive editors to use legitimate examples as precedents for possible disruption. additionally, we are unable to take primary sources through zoom as readers will be unable to prove these themselves unlike a secondary source. thanks, •Melecie!• ~talk~ 13:44, 3 May 2021 (UTC)

How do I get another consensus? And How to I get a part of the talk page? I have mentioned a lot of valid comments in the talk page in the past and I have been blocked before for no apparent reason than editing out improper insulting comments for our goddess. I will revert it back, but I should not be blocked. I am not violating anything if I'm doing what's right. If you call this a violation, then you are acting biased towards me. WP:Ignore all rules is not a substitute for talk page discussion. my page

Hi,

I have tried to fix the info on my page several times in the last week as I am starting a new job and wanting the info to be correct and each time I do it it reverts to the old false information.

How can I ensure that the edits to my page remain permanently?

Two immediate changes are important. Both Personal Life and Filmography sections are false. Can you please delete them.

Also, a number of the Basic Info about me, where I studied and Film Career, are false. How can I make permanent changes? Even my picture is not me.

I want my page to be accurate, please.

(edit conflict) hi @Hmbizri:! the best way to ensure your edits don't get reverted is to back them up with WP:Reliable sources, usually journalistic or news articles in your case. however, going through the wikipage about you, I've noticed that much of the article relies on primary sources anyway, which isn't really an excuse, so I put a Primary sources tag on it. while theoretically I can just purge the page away for not having reliable sources, but that would basically amount to reducing it to a state where it can be speedy deleted, plus I want to give time for people to give edits. and finally, you might wanna read on both WP:Conflict of interest which discourages editing articles about you, and WP:Own, which states that even if it's about you, you cannot "own" any wikipage. • | melecie | t 05:13, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

I can't tell you the trouble this page gave me in my personal life (it is all false and has lead to ups) and in my professional life (one false employer threatened to sue me for publishing false information) to my academic life (I never went to any of the schools listed or taught there).

hi again @Hmbizri:! unfortunately I cannot purge pages away due to subject request. deletion of pages in wikipedia is avoided unless there is no way for a page to be improved, which I do not think is the case with Hisham Bizri. I think people can likely rewrite the article instead, and if an article can be improved, editors would likely prevent the article from passing through WP:Articles for deletion, so I have instead tagged the article to inform other editors to add secondary sources and maybe rewrite the article. thanks, • | melecie | t 08:16, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. After doing some research, I believe the original information on KJB was wrong.

There were 2 Kenneth James Boswells living in NZ around the same time. The original article had KB's DoB and DoD as 1912-1984, whereas my research has him as 1910-1971. I base this on the Electoral Roll evidence (found on Ancestry.com):

KJB 1912-84

Appears in the Electoral Rolls of 1954, 57, 63, 69, 72, 78 and 81 as single and living in North Shore, Auckland.

KJB 1910-71

Appears in the ERs of 1935, 38, 46 and 49 as single and living with his parents David and Mary in Petone or Hutt (Wellington). In the WW2 Ballot List of 1941, he is at the same address as listed in the 35 and 38 ERs. In the ERs of 1957, 63 and 69 he is married to Doris (nee Mullaney) and living in Heretaunga, Miramar and Karori (all in Wellington). There is a Death record for him on NZ's BDM in 1971 and, while I cannot find a grave record, he does not appear in later ERs. (Doris is living by herself in 1972, 78 and 81 ERs.)

The only digital evidence is from the ERs on Ancestry, but if I can't use Ancestry as a source, how do I provide verification? Any help on this would be appreciated. Thank you

hi! verifications for someone like Boswell would come with reliable news sources and features. for example, Michael Jordan's main source in the first biography paragraph is provided by the Chicago Tribune. I advise you to look for news features, biographies, and interviews to support the claims instead of ancestry (which is occasionally a valid primary source), which quoted from WP:Biographies of living persons#Avoid misuse of primary sources, Do not use public records that include personal details, such as date of birth, home value, traffic citations, vehicle registrations, and home or business addresses.. if you have any other questions, feel free to ask. thanks, • | melecie | t 23:46, 16 May 2021 (UTC)

@Azbuzz: I believe I can help you: so, you'll use the <ref> tag and the Template:Cite book for this.

for the first tag, you'll use <ref name="dien six dynasties"> to make a new reference. then cite book's documentation states the following variables: {{cite book |last= |first= |date= |title= |url= |publisher= |page= |isbn=}}, where last and first are the last and first name of the author, date is date of publication, title is the book's title, url and location is what site and the link you got the book from, publisher is whoever published the book, page is the page you got the ref from, and isbn is the isbn number of the book.

so, this ref will use the following code, if you want to cite page 4: {{cite book |last= Dien|first= Albert|date= 2007|title= Six dynasties civilization|url= https://books.google.ca/books?id=0zp6iMZoqt0C&q=Yan+Zhitui+Yanshi+jiaxun+jijie+Family+instructions+for+the+Yan+clan&redir_esc=y#v=onepage&q&f=false|publisher= Yale University|page= 4|isbn= 978-0-300-0704-04-8}}

after this you may put a closing ref tag </ref>.

hi IP user! from my quick search, you seem to have taken a paragraph from this blogspot blog, with the rest of the content regarding man on the run being fully unsourced (which is also often on the grounds for removal). additionally, firefly used WP:RedWarn, which reverts consecutive users at a time, so they may've thought that the rest of your edits may've also been copyright violations when they weren't. I removed content because it was construed in a false and defamatory manner. I have now revised again this page, this time not removing the content but revising the false information out of it. and adding that the restraining order was ex parte which means on the so-called victim's sayso. I took out the part that said "He threatened her with violence" because the link is dead and it was a from a Cuban propaganda source. The Cuban government is trying to discredit the subject because he openly opposes their government and the link was bad. In addition, I added that the so-called victim failed to even show at the actual injunction hearing and that the injunction was dismissed. And cited the source. Hi, I understand instagram is not a reliable source but it is the only one available due to the scale of the situation. Reese LaFlare is a big personality while the accuser is only a student and not much influence. Recently, Reese LaFlare has been accused of stealing artwork from a student and using it in his merchandise without crediting or paying the original artist. hi Faizal shaad! instead of listing down trivias, you may put these facts in a paragraph in the article. for example, the statement China is one of the formost countries in the field of population. has already been outlined in the same article List of cities in China by population in the first paragraph: China is the world's most populous country. as well as the second statement China was the first country who issued the currency on paper. which is in the section Early Chinese paper money of article Banknote as The first banknote-type instrument was used in China in the 7th century, during the Tang dynasty (618–907). specifically, avoid doing a list of facts that can instead be written as a paragraph, and make sure your paragraph is relevant to the article you're editing (for example, a statement about paper money doesn't make sense on an article about population, even if they both involve China). happy editing! ◎ | melecie | t 09:23, 11 June 2021 (UTC)

I am pretty new to wikipedia editing so wondered if would mind explaining the comment regarding your removal of the recent edit I made (this is not meant to be an attack, I am genuinely curious and trying to learn). The comment references 'self-published' source- does that relate to link to the website? Or is that the book discussed (which being published by an academic publisher, does that count as self-published?). Being that there are not many people who research on the topic the page is about, what is the best way to talk about my own work without it being removed? I was still planning to continue updating the page with a range of other scholar's work (as I have already done) but would also like to include my own. I'm not sure about the reliability of the other sources listed in the national variants section (I don't frequent food pages enough to gain an idea of what's reliable and what's not), however generally, using wikipedia as a source other than in wikipedia-related pages (which then counts as a primary source) is not accepted due to circular reporting. if you don't know how to source yet, please see WP:REF. happy editing!   melecie   t 10:13, 18 June 2021 (UTC)

I joined Wikipedia to add information to the entry on Text Messaging, citing three sources as well as a reviewer summary, to have my information removed by another editor named "discospinster" claiming that "secondary sources" for the addition to the historical record were needed.

In 1964, Anastasios J. Vasilatos conceived of a 2-way wireless communication system for his Master's Thesis, as a graduate student at the Illinois Institute of Technology, to fulfill his Masters Degree in Product Design.

The title of this thesis was “The Citizens’ Two-Way Telecom Network". The subject of this book is ‘Text Messaging’ conceived in 1964 and completed in 1970.[4]

Vasilatos’s system laid out the concept of text messaging using the FM wireless radio bandwidth to transmit and receive alphanumeric characters and/or symbols. An Electronic Switching System is one of many components used within the network to support the transmission and receiving of coded messages over the FM radio bandwidth between relay stations (Cell towers), located in positions to cover a 5 mile radius, overlapping one another to prevent gaps in signal performance.

The code used in this system provides the use of all letters in the English alphabet, all ten numbers, a space and four symbols. The hardware used for keying in, and receiving display information was designed utilizing 1964 technology.

The research, design and development of this network system took 6 years, and was completed in 1970.

A hard bound copy of this 228 page book on text messaging, is contained in the Smithsonian Institution, under call number: TK6553.V33 1970a.[5]
