Paul Curtis (footballer) moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Paul Curtis (footballer), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. signed, 511KeV (talk) 06:45, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for April 8
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Harry McKay (footballer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Victoria. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Jake Stringer, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Karl Amon, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant noticeboards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.

Changing format
[edit]Hey mate, why do you keep changing the format in footballers infoboxes (like in this edit)? The {{0}} is intended to keep the spacing so that the numbers align properly. --SuperJew (talk) 08:23, 25 April 2023 (UTC)

ANI discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 02:05, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Warning @MelbourneFan2022: You must respond to the ANI discussion here. Either that, or you must never repeat the kinds of edits referred to in that report. You have been here a year but have never used a talk page. That's fine, but if problems arise, as in this case, you must respond to other editors or must avoid the problems. The issue raised at the ANI discussion is trivial but, according to other editors, it is disruptive. Communication is required and I will have to indefinitely block you if disruption continues. Johnuniq (talk) 07:45, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
- Adding a permalink to the discussion so we can reference it later if needed. Will add that per MF2022's contributions, they have been online since the first 3 comments on the WP:ANI and since the first message about it here, and therefore doesn't seem they are interested in communicating. --SuperJew (talk) 08:36, 30 April 2023 (UTC)
@MelbourneFan2022: Thank you for your edits but WP:Communication is required and I have had to block your ability to edit articles for two weeks. Please respond here by adding a comment to show that you understand that there is a problem. The issue is minor, namely that you repeatedly remove formatting that other editors have inserted (the {{0}} template). However the serious problem is that you have not responded to concerns expressed earlier. As I wrote above, you must either avoid the problem or engage with other editors and discuss the issue. Questions can be asked here or at WP:Teahouse. Johnuniq (talk) 03:31, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
Johnuniq, disruptive editing has continued – another of the above edits here, as well as this (for context, McKay has simply nominated Essendon as his preferred new home; the player hasn't moved clubs yet, and there's still a possibility that it won't happen). Seems that they haven't learned. 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 11:15, 22 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry. He has put that as his new home and as Essendon are interested in McKay and that because he is a unrestricted free agent meaning he can leave if he wants North Melbourne can’t do anything about him leaving which is why I added that. MelbourneFan2022 (talk) 00:01, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- In this edit you removed six instances of
{{0}}
from Adam Treloar. Why did you do that? Johnuniq (talk) 03:10, 23 September 2023 (UTC)- Because they aren’t needed, aren’t they? MelbourneFan2022 (talk) 04:07, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Wrong and wrong; McKay is a restricted free agent, so the offer can still be matched, and even if he wasn't, you still don't make the change until the transfer goes through, as pre-emptive edits like the one that you made are considered disruptive. Otherwise, it's typical to use the {{0}} in player infoboxes to align the totals to the right if, for example, one is two digits and the other is three, and you've been asked countless times not to change. Johnuniq, this is the first time that MelbourneFan2022 has commented on a talk page of any kind (not hard to guess why) – where was this response in the initial discussion? They chose not to respond and yet this continues... 4TheWynne (talk • contribs) 04:40, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks for raising the issue but it would be better if side issues were discussed at another time or place. Johnuniq (talk) 05:47, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn’t realise this. I won’t remove them from future edits. MelbourneFan2022 (talk) 23:57, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- @MelbourneFan2022: Has anyone ever raised the issue of {{0}} wikitext with you before? Have you performed similar removals in the past and been reverted? Have you discussed use of the template with anyone? Johnuniq (talk) 05:47, 23 September 2023 (UTC)

@MelbourneFan2022: I have no idea why you are unable to reply to my questions. However, I see your 23:57, 23 September 2023 statement above. It is absurd that you think "I didn’t realise this" is a believable response after the messages on this page at 08:23, 25 April 2023 and 03:31, 21 May 2023, not to mention the notification on 02:05, 30 April 2023 for this ANI discussion. Next time you see dozens of articles with some wikitext that you do not understand, leave it alone. This has wasted a lot of time and I will block you indefinitely if there is any further trouble. Johnuniq (talk) 01:53, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry, it may not seem true but it is I just didn’t think that they were needed but in future I will leave things that I don’t understand alone so I don’t mess anything up. MelbourneFan2022 (talk) 02:01, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

- A quick Google search will show you quite enough secondary sources and notability. If it's important for you to have good, notable articles, you can do some work and not just draftify/delete everything hoping that other editors will do it for you. --SuperJew (talk) 12:38, 30 April 2023 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box in your preferences. Thanks! Laterthanyouthink (talk) 09:56, 7 May 2023 (UTC)

We don't add teams until a person has actually played a match for the side in that season. I think I've reverted the cases where you've done this but perhaps you might like to check that I've not missed any. Thanks.
We also idon'thave five columns available in the infobox. If you add another column you simply get an error flag raised and it won't show. Blue Square Thing (talk) 05:25, 4 September 2023 (UTC)
