The Months of African Cinema Contest Continues in November!
Greetings,
Thank you very much for participating in the Months of African Cinema global contest/edit-a-thon, and thank you for your contributions so far.
It is already the middle of the contest and a lot have been achieved already! We have been able to get over 1,500 articles created in over fifteen (15) languages! This would not have been possible without your support and we want to thank you. If you have not yet listed your name as a participant in the contest page please do so.
Please make sure to list the articles you have created or improved in the article achievements' section of the contest page, so that they can be easily tracked. To be able to claim prizes, please also ensure to list your articles on the users by articles page. We would be awarding prizes to different categories of winners:
- Overall winner
- 1st - $500
- 2nd - $200
- 3rd - $100
- Diversity winner - $100
- Gender-gap filler - $100
- Language Winners - up to $100*
We are very excited about what has been achieved so far, but your contributions are still needed to further exceed all expectations! Let’s create more articles before the end of this contest, which is this November!!!
Thank you once again for being part of this global event! --Jamie Tubers (talk) 10:30, 06 November 2020 (UTC)

Organized labour project
Thank you for joining the Organized Labour project. I've been a participant in the project since 2006 and am working towards reviving the project. As part of a reboot we are introducing a new membership system, which will help with communications among participants. This involves creating a membership file for each participant within your user space (you can see an example of my membership card here: User:Goldsztajn/WikiProjectCards/WikiProject Organized Labour). This system is already in operation within a number of wikiprojects (such as Women in Red and Medicine). You will not have to do anything, myself or someone else from the project will create the relevant file within your userspace. However, I am conscious that it is not polite to change an editor's user space without notice. If I don't hear from you in the negative, I will go ahead with making the change after the 18th of January. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Many thanks for supporting the project, in solidarity, --Goldsztajn (talk) 08:14, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Goldsztajn: Sure. I couldn't find a quick way of creating one on the project page so if you don't mind doing it, that would be grand. With all the lockdowns, I'm hoping to get more active on Wikipedia. Been looking at a lot of the early history of the IWW and other unions histories during the early 20th century. Meanderingbartender (talk) 13:45, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
- The new membership system is set up and ready to go but not linked until we complete the changes to the front page. The downside of the system is that for already existing participants it requires a manual migration - otherwise we lose editors' original joining times. Very happy to hear of interest in the IWW! Look forward to collaborating in future, kind regards, --Goldsztajn (talk) 22:28, 11 January 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Covington Hall
On 12 March 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Covington Hall, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Covington Hall was a member of the Industrial Workers of the World and the Sons of Confederate Veterans? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Covington Hall. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Covington Hall), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (ie, 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hitler-fighter articles need help: Erhard Auer & Münchener Post
Erhard Auer was the Editor in Chief of the Münchener Post, it was shut down by Hitler in March 1933 immediately after he became the Reich Chancellor. Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party called the newspaper and its editors "Giftküche" (The Poison Kitchen) and "Münchener Pest ("Munich Pestilence" or "Munich Plague"). Hitler considered the paper one of his most vexing public adversaries, and the paper was the target of libel actions by the Nazi Party. The paper was one of the few early warning voices regarding the dangers posed by the rise of the Nazi Party, although their warnings went largely unheeded at the time. Auer was imprisoned in the Dachau concentration camp and died 20 March 1945. The first book written on Erhard Auer and the Münchener Post was in 2013, in Brazil. .... 0mtwb9gd5wx (talk) 21:38, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
