Speedy deletion nomination of Howard Earl Partridge
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Howard Earl Partridge requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. John F. Lewis (talk) 23:06, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User:Marianamcnulty/sandbox
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:Marianamcnulty/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

Some things you need to know before you continue
[edit]You really need to review the following policies and guidelines before continuing here:
- Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, because you clearly have one.
- WP:NOTPROMOTION - Wikipedia is not a promotion channel.
- Wikipedia:Notability - general notability guideline describing the criteria a subject must meet before it merits an article on Wikipedia.
- Wikipedia:Notability (people) - notability guideline specific to certain professions.
- Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, because you are writing about a living person.
- Because notability, in the Wikipedia context, requires significant coverage in multiple reliable sources independent of the subject, you should also read Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources.
You mentioned on the talk page that you want to upload a picture. If you don't personally own the copyright to that picture (it isn't enough that you have permission as an employee, you need to have authority over the copyright), then the copyright holder must submit, through official channels, the form found at Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries, before Wikipedia can accept the image.
If you have been instructed by your boss to post a promotional article about him, then your boss needs to know that this will never happen and continued attempts at doing so may result in this account being blocked and/or your company website being blacklisted.
It's good that you created Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Howard Earl Partridge. That's the way to go if you have a conflict of interest. However, for that article to be accepted, be aware that any article about a person must follow established policies and guidelines. It cannot be promotional, it must be neutral, and it must demonstrate significant coverage in multiple reliable sources independent of your boss or your company. Currently your AFC submission doesn't meet these requirements. Keep working on it, tone down the promotional fluff, and add reliable references. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:50, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
Conflict of interest
[edit]As you seem so intent on creating a particular article, let me especially point you (again) to our policy about conflict of interest. You would also do well to read (and heed) all the advice which has been given to you. So far everything you've written reads like a big bit of puffery, praising the subject of the article. See also what wikipedia is not. Lectonar (talk) 21:56, 6 March 2013 (UTC)
